barely two weeks after AHM, I find myself walking up before sunrise to go for a 20km run again.
this time, the run is at Rifle Range road. part of the training/build up to the 50km Northface run on 24 Oct.
about a hundred odd runners turned up for today's run.
the crowd's expectedly older compared to the AHM crowd. but alot more professional looking
scary
the ground was wet when we arrived so that means the trails will be slippery and soggy too.
overhead was an overcast sky. which means rain.
"looks like it is going to be fun"
found trail running to be more enjoyable, albeit it is more tiring
but with the twists and turns in the forests, it was kinda fun in a childish way
the views were also not too bad. one stretch of the trail brought us alongside the tranquil waters of Macritchie reservoir.
it was then that it started to rain *grin*
knees kinda hurt towards the end (as usual) and calf muscles cramped if i tried to go faster =/
I definitely will need to increase my weekly mileage if I were want to complete the 50km run in one piece.
which means I need to cut back on the gym sessions and do more long runs.
which kinda sucks cos I dun like to make such tradeoffs.
time is really the ultimate equaliser.
to excel or to become better at something, we need to spend more time on it
same goes for knowing a person better. family. friends.
and if want to have a successful career, u need to spend time on work too
so how?
no matter how well u manage your time. u only have 24 hours a day.
something's gotta give.
what will you give up if you had to choose to give up something?
running,
life
