(no subject)
WHOA!
We got hit by a mini cyclone on sunday night, our roof started leaking there was a literal waterfall coming through my brother's old room, on top of which we lost power. LOST POWER FOR 26 HOURS, all our food is now off and everything D: apparently there are still more houses without power, somthing like 250 000 homes were affected. My whole neighbourhood is trashed - trees have been either snapped in half or uprooted, or stripped bare of leaves, there's a manhole on the main road which looks like it's slowly trying to dig itself out of the ground, (the bitumen all around it is smashed up and sitting higher like a localasied earthquake or something).
I had to work monday morning, for some reason my store had power for some odd reason we were the only people in the area who DID have power, so we ended up turning into a mini refuge shelter, boiling hot water for people, and heating things in our microwave, we did $2000 worth of sales between 6am and 8am TWO HOURS. it was insane, lucky it was me and my boss on though because by the time I left everything was back on track and cleaned (the place was a mess got flooded plus no cleaning had been done the previous night).
After work monday was piss boring, I didn't have any books to read and I couldn't get any new ones as the stores were without power, so I cleaned and pampered my dogs, who were as bored as I was lol. then I went to alan's who THANKFULLY HAD POWER, oh man we have an electric hot water system so I hadn't showered for like 2 days D: (I shower in the morning and only got to alan's around 6pmish) mm but we had hot water today, had a ridiculously long nice smelling hot hot bath, man when I came out my body was all steaming and me being the nerd I am was like "HOMG: GEAR. SECOND." the I proceeded to prance about steaming for a bit. twas awsome.
btw brisbane has been declared a natural disaster area!
