Ok. Well that last post completely jinxed things (though Say You Will helps nearly everything).
Turns out the builders aren't actually going to come and rebuild our floor or walls after all. Apparently our designer (who is also the titular project manager) knew this two days ago. THIS IS POSSIBLY WHY HE HASN'T RETURNED MY CALLS FOR THE LAST THREE DAYS.

Now to re-organise the plumber, electrician, asbestos removal people, glazier, engineer, kitchen designer, kitchen installer, lino layer, door/deck builder and CANCEL THE DESIGNER'S LAST CHEQUE.
Perhaps caffiene was a bad idea after all... *has coke-fuelled RAGE*
