I know nothing about BSG. NOTHING. (Except old BSG, but that hardly counts.) Sadly, it comes on at the same time as both Dr. Who and Prison Break, and oh, woe, only one VCR. Prison Break has gone on hiatus for a spell, though, which means the odds of BSG being viewed have suddenly SPIRALED OUT OF CONTROL!!! At which point I may have something pertinent to add in response to your rather awesome sounding story wish.

And OMG YES with the Philadelphia story idea! Somebody (who isn't me) should totally write that right now! This minute! What the hell is wrong with people that they aren't glued to their keyboards tapping this out?? Also, how would you cast it? More importantly, who would Chris be???

I might just kill to read your Firefly/Popslash crossover.

It is so sad when fandom obsessions start to fade, whatever the reason. Did Buffy fandom go potty? I didn't know that. I watched the show but never got involved in the fandom, although I'm not sure why. Probably one of the few times when the show was satisfying enough on its own.

insert large anvillike object as a 'hint' here

AHAHAHA! YOU'LL NEED A HEAVIER ANVIL THAT THAT!!! OMG with the writing angst these days.

So. How about me. Hmmm. I don't know what story I really want to read. Other than that Philadelphia Story thing you just mentioned. Nope, nothing's coming to mind. I think this has more to do with the fact that I'm still struggling with my SeSa story than anything else, though. A former friend and I talked about collaborating on an N Sync/Breakfast Club story once, and I still think it would have been a lot of fun. To write, anyway.

As for when I know it's time to bale on a fandom, I guess, as a reader, I'm like you, I move on when no one's writing stories I particularly want to read anymore. As a writer, well, popslash is the first fandom I've written in and I'm still here, so, yeah. It may end up being the only fandom I ever ever write it. :)

BSG is fantastic. Very dark, but fantastic. So hooray for your death spiral. Um. You know what I mean.

And somebody should totally write The Sparkly Philadelphia Story. Chris has to be C Dexter Haven of course, except there would be no rendition of High Society's 'True Love' because ew. And I think JC should be Tracy and Lance should be Mike McCaulay and Joey the Celeste Holm character. Justin is probably the cutely annoying younger sister. Not that I've thought about this. At all.

and you could always write my firefly/popslash crossover. because you do pretty banter and it would be immensely cool. basically someone has to because now I'm desperate for it

WHY IS THERE NOT FIC ON DEMAND FOR ME WHEN I HAVE A COOL IDEA? WHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYY? It's times like these I wish I wrote. Then I clock myself round the lughole and giggle. Because NO. Not a writer. I can beta but have no drive to write at all.

Did Buffy fandom go potty?

Oh ho did Buffy fandom head bonkers-wards. There were enough nuts to give anyone anaphylactic shock. Mostly the Spike redemptionistas and the dribbly gooey tinhat fangirliness. Gah. It's where I discovered fanfic, but I'm glad I never participated except for reading.

YOU'LL NEED A HEAVIER ANVIL THAT THAT!!!

I am like Wily Coyote, you never know where the next anvil will come from. See... look over there! *points*

SeSa!!!! I bounced hard when I saw your name on the list. I was positively Tigger-like in my joy. And the Breakfast Club idea has definitely possibilities - though it was never one of my fav 80s movies. Some Kind of Wonderful however. Oh yeah. /pointless tangential comment.

It may end up being the only fandom I ever ever write in.

Well if you only ever write in one, I'm very glad it's pop. My flatmate woolly_socks was sad last week and I gave her Under My Skin and Best Laid Plans - because she likes the sparkly boys and I have COMPLETELY converted her to everything except the fic (because RPS with sex weirds her a little). And she loved them. Like refuses to give my hard copies back loved them. Actually, she's asleep now and I could steal them back and take them to bed. *engages stealth mode*

Ooh, I can hardly wait for BSG. Dark and fantastic, sounds like just the thing. *rubs hands together gleefully*

Justin is probably the cutely annoying younger sister.

Hee! Perfect. Boy, it's been a long time since I've watched that movie. I should strong-arm my sister into watching it with me this weekend.

also, you are eeeeevil. just sayin'. OMG, though, that would be an awesome story. SOMEBODY needs to write that sucker. Tomorrow, please. I haven't actually read any Firefly slash. Any authors you particularly recommend?

dribbly gooey tinhat fangirliness

Oh, dear. That does sound kind of. Um. Gross. Who were the Spike redemptionistas? I mean, I'm not asking you to name names, I'm just wondering what their schtick was. Of course, if the memories are just too back-of-the-hand-to-the-forehead painful and something you'd rather not re-live through the re-telling, ignore the question and pretend I never asked it. :)

When it comes to avoiding writing, I'm as adroit as the roadrunner ...

Some Kind of Wonderful. Hmmm. *googles* You know, I don't think I ever saw that one. I'll have to check it out. Breakfast Club wasn't so much one of my favourites; it's just one of the few that I was familiar with. Somehow I managed to miss a whole whack of 80s movies. Too busy buffing my nails or something.

Another convert!! Dude, thank you for telling me about woolly_socks's reaction to my stories. You've no idea how good that makes me feel. Just in time to help assuage the annual SeSa angst!

Everybody should rewatch The Philadelphia Story. Immediately. And then write me fic (am I harping on this too much?). You KNOW you want to!

Firefly Mal/Simon slash - one of the few things I've read is a long incredibly plotty story, set through the entire series. Trauma Medicine can be found here.

Spike redemptionistas were all about making Spike not evil and getting him together with Buffy as a nice person (or occasionally with Xander as a nice person). Not as a demon who fought with himself and had nasty aspects. They wanted him boring and safe basically. And the show kinda went there with the giving Spike a soul thing. What me? Bitter about season 7 Buffy? Nooooooo. Surely not!

Some Kind of Wonderful is FABULOUS. Mary Stuart Masterson and Eric Stoltz with Mary Stuart Masterson as a drummer punk girl in love with her best friend who's falling for one of the cool kids. And it still bears watching, the only 80s teen movie other than Say Anything that does as far as I'm concerned. /opinionated rant

And anything I can do to assuage SeSa angst is yours honey...
