SYC + Sustrans

Ok so the last entry was an old one from a different site, this is a new one...

I had a meeting last night with a manager at college to see about getting an election done for SYC and he said do it tomorrow (this morning), so I stayed up late trying to prep for it. I came in at 0830 with all my paperwork (on my day off!) and no one wanted to stand for election. It bugs me that people complain that they don't get a say in things but when given a chance to take part they show absolute disinterest! I'm going to fume about them and the back stabbing council for a few days I think.

Happier stuff though.... I had a meeting with sustrans cycle rangers on Tues (finally) and got allocated a route to take care of, basically my route to college and work so it's pretty convenient. I also got given sticker to stick on my bike and a reflective jacket on the way (so I can glow in the dark) along with an absolutely huge book on the history of the cycleways (ick). I'll also be doing a 30 mile bike ride in two weeks, hope my knees hold out, I missed the National Trust AGM 'caus I couldn't walk the other week, I don't want to miss this ride.

Fun fact - Bikes are now classed as vehicles on the road so I can legally cycle in the middle of the lane backing up traffic for miles, Yaay! ( I'm evil).

sustrans, national trust, rant, syc
