Announcement + poll
Alright! While we said that the poll would be on Wednesday, we're actually opening the poll up for voting today; we've been receiving more and more complaints of LJ not working for people, and so we'd like to get this settled as soon as possible so as to not keep them waiting and wondering. Thank you for your patience so far!
Taking into account all of the comments made here on the announcement post, we have decided that our options are ultimately to stay on LJ permanently or to move to Dreamwidth for ease of moving everyone.
Up until now, Vatheon has been a journal-based community, using predominantly the character journals for network posts with log posts in the main community- this is mainly due to being tied to an older system of how games operated back in the day. Recently, many games have been using the community-based format- this means that instead of posting network posts in a character journal, they would be posted to their designated network community. There are many advantages toward a community-based format, including: No hassle of keeping your friends list updated, the ability to use the same journal in multiple games, no need to "disable custom comments" on your journals, no need to use the "date out of order" function, and no stray ooc journal posts in your f-list!
If we do move, and re-create the communities on Dreamwidth, it would be possible for Vatheon to have this set-up as well. Would you be interested in that?
We would appreciate everyone's input on this, as it will ultimately affect where the game goes! For the people who can't access Livejournal, we'll be accepting votes over IM and Plurk, though we ask that everyone please only vote once! This is an important decision, after all, and we want it to be fair. Thank you!
