So to speak. I'm in need of information, for it seems I've been brought here with a purpose that hasn't been told to me. Or so I believe, as I was left with this symbol...
[ Pulling out the StarFish Communicator from thin air. ] I did try asking another what it was, but they misunderstood and told me it was mine to keep. Would you happen to know what it is?
[He walks closer, hands stuffed into his pockets as he gives a shrug.] They haven't told any of us why "exactly" we're here for. I figure it's something to do with the barrier above our heads.
As for that though, [A point to the SFC.] That's to communicate with other people who are foreigners. You can tell who they are because of these marks on their body.
[He lifts up his shirt to show where his mark is. On his chest, over his heart before pulling it down.]
Foreigners are people who have been pulled in from different universes.
Anyway, the thingy is called a StarFish Communicator. We usually call it an SFC. You can post video, voice, or text posts to the network -- which will be received by everyone with one of them.
[ Goodness, Roger, showing little ladies your body so easily. The show does help, though. ] Ah, that does help to explain the meaning behind that mark. I had pondered upon it before, but...
[ Now she's pointing to the communicator herself, tapping at the side. ] What you said about this, I'm not sure I understand. How does one 'post' a voice? Or if you share with me what a 'video' is, I may be more able to learn.
[HE SERIOUSLY HAS NO SHAME. Except if you talk about sex. Then he's a prude. SO CONTRADICTING SOB.]
Oh, that? Ah... you're from one of those places that has no technology, right? Well, I'll admit, that it's pretty advanced from when I'm from but easy to understand.
[He pulls out his own and gestures to it. It's... rather red, white, and blue, if you'll notice.]
I'll show you an example of a video.
[And then he holds it up to his face and grins at it.] Hi, my name is America.
[And then her SFC should ping with the video of him saying his name.]
[ Good thing this little dudette is unlikely to speak about sex! ... And right now, 'dudette' could be a serious form of address with all this new weird words. ]
Ah, a way to share your message in spirit! [ She tries pressing a button, which... plays that message again. Oh my. ] And indeed, it also includes your voice, America, just as you said it could.
Mhm! And then you can do the same thing, with just your voice, you just click... [He leans over her shoulder and demonstrates on the SFC.] that button there and then you can also do the same thing with that button there for text. When you click it, out will pop-- [A small keyboard! Look at that little keyboard, how cute.] A keyboard! And you can use it to type.
How bizarre this little thing is. All these circles to do all that. [ At least some of the keyboard is understandable, but she's clicking on that enter key to see what that does. Oh, that made that thing on screen go down. Huh. ]
... I predict that I will spend much time on this if it is really that essential, though I'm more favourable with the thought of speaking directly than this oddity.
[He pulls back and smiles.] It's the quickest way to talk to the community at large and easier to use it to contact people if you want to meet up.
Like ... here. [He points to the contact list on the SFC.] If you click a person's name, you can send them a voicemail, which is basically just a video, voice, or text message that they'll get later on.
[ Well, that's a good point... Out of curiousity, she flips through the names as she speaks, seeing if there's any she recognises. Not for any believe, but if the chance...
There does come up a familiar name, causing her eyes to widen momentarily. She doesn't make any indication about it, other than when she questions: ] And would there be a way to locate the names available on here?
[ Magic! Just like how America should be. That's perfect. ]
I am indebted to you, America. You must contact me if you are ever in need of help. [ She lifts the communicator up in one hand, giving a nod to him. ] If you will excuse me, I wish to go to this building right away.
Sure, little lady, somethin' on your mind?

[Taking her SFC, he fiddles with it a bit before giving it back to her. Hey look, there's a map and instructions on it!]
