Franziska was looking forward to today's trial. She could finally savor the fruit of her labour, the satisfaction of bringing a large-scale investigation to a close. All she needed to do was step foot into the court room, and ( Read more... )

... He knows that voice. Not personally, since he's been trying to hit on her (and failing) whenever they passed, but he knew that voice!

"... Frau von Karma?" Who the hell would be DUMB enough to abduct Franziska von Karma? Everyone knew her. Her whip was the only thing that stung more than her words, and... well, he knew from experience, really. Klavier woke up later than she did, of course, so she's probably been wandering awhile--it seemed they just woke up here, like that, and he found her by happenstance. Or luck.

Whatever the reason? He was glad someone he knew of, at least, was around. "Perhaps you should calm down..." He's not dumb enough to get too close to that viper she called a whip, though. Not just yet.

Franziska turned abruptly to the voice, ready to verbally and physically lash out at the source. However, she realizes that the person was far from her whipping range, which is a pretty big distance since her whip could reach a judge all the way down from her prosecutor's bench. How cowardly and enraging! She decides to point accusingly at him instead.

"Don't tell me what to do! A von Karma is not one to be commanded!" she barked angrily, obviously not recognizing Klavier. "You will tell me where I am this instant!"

That wasn't a question. It was a demand.

Klavier's uneasiness melts away. Ah, Franziska. Now he remembered why he liked you. There's a moment when he smiles, pulling his blond hair, before releasing it.

"I would if I knew, believe me. And when I find out who decided it was a great idea to kidnap two prosecutors, I will let you know."

He's getting closer anyway. No use staying around; his courage was back, as was his sense (or lack thereof), so he didn't think there was anything wrong with a little flirting. Besides, he'd been whipped before. It wasn't THAT bad.

"And it was merely a suggestion. If you whip everyone we meet, Frau, we will not get to the bottom of this if they are scared off. And I am well aware of who you are. Did you forget who I am?"

"I haven't met someone as gaudy-looking as you in my life," she replies bluntly, folding her arms and tapping her foot impatiently. Does this guy not know any manners? As if she's one to criticize. How dare he give her advice, it was just ridiculous. She was a von Karma, the cream of the crop among prosecutors. What made this nobody, nonetheless a nobody-prosecutor if what he claims is true, think that he has the authority or knowledge to do that?

... Klavier's response is just a laugh, and he smiles wider, undaunted. "How you wound me... I suppose your memory isn't as perfect as it should be, but then, we've only met in passing. My name is Klavier Gavin. Generally, I'm a prosecutor by day, and a god of rock by night. Unfortunately, someone decided to ruin my concert, and I woke up here, just like you."

Honestly! The bravado of whoever did this was huge; bigger than his own concert. Still, he gives her a smile, too full of confidence, despite how lost he felt. Perhaps it was just knowing a woman was in his presence, especially one who was so cute. "Still, it's nice to see you, even if the circumstances aren't as nice as I would like, ja?"

"...."

She just responds to his introduction with an abrupt whipping. How dare he insult her perfect memory! She would definitely someone with such a bizarre background, and that irritatingly imperfect mixing of German and English. Just decide between one or the other!

"I wouldn't say the same, as you've left a rather unfortunate first impression. You'd best watch your words when speaking to a von Karma!"

NOTHING. guiltyguitar March 4 2010, 21:35:37 UTC
Klavier manages to have expected this, and covers his face from being hit, laughing the entire time. Somehow, SOMEHOW, he expected that--and he's had worse.

"Haha! I go out of my way to be kind, and this is the thanks... sorry, Frau von Karma, but the only perfection that interests me is in my music, and in making sure the guilty are really guilty." Ah, this was going to leave a mark on his hands, but hey. It's not the first time. ... And he doubts it's the last.

"Coincidentally, what year was it when you last checked?" He asks, undaunted, "Because I'm pretty sure it was July, 2026." He needed to see if what he was thinking was right. She seemed... well, to put it bluntly? Younger than he remembered her being. It was odd.

Not again! The last time someone was able to block her whip was when she tried punishing that Interpol Agent from Zheng Fa. Which just annoys her even more.

"That's ridiculous. It's March of 2019," she raises her whip threateningly. Was this guy a loony? "Perhaps I should give you some head trauma to set your memory straight?"

Not to say he wouldn't get away with a few not so light lacerations to his hands (and marks on his clothing, thank GOD he wore long sleeves), but the last thing he wanted injured was his face.

At any rate, Klavier... suddenly looses his cool when she mentions the date. He doesn't seem so sure of that. "... Your memory isn't as perfect as you think it is. That... that was just... that's a month before Herr Wright was disbarred!"

... W-whoops. Perhaps if he hadn't just gotten here, and he had been thinking, he wouldn't have blurted it out. But that struck far too close to home. ... After all, he was the one who took his badge, pretty much.

Bad move, Klavier. Bad move. As short-tempered as Franziska is, few things make her completely flip. This is one of them. Her scream could probably be heard from miles.

"WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!"

And so begins her whipping frenzy.

"Do not...!" WHIP! "Make such...!" WHIP! "Crude and unfunny...!" WHIP! "Lies!" WHIP WHIP WHIP WHIP WHIP!

Klavier covers his face again, outright glaring with all the anger she has right back at her, and twice the worry. Hell, the poor man's sweating beads. He's actually even pale, and it isn't the whipping doing that.

He's too numb from just overall being energy drained and appearing here to really care about what her whip is doing to his poor soaked, expensive clothing.

"I would know! That was seven years ago! How... how is this possible?!" He can talk through the whipping, surprisingly, even though half of it after what he just said is going into muffled, inaudible German.

She finally ceases whipping at him, but it doesn't stop her from yelling at him.

"Seven years ago?! Are you sure your head wasn't hit harder than you thought?! Explain yourself!" she cracks her whip on the ground. "Now!"

"... I gave him a chance. I gave him several chances to prove himself. But... but this... I don't think I've hit my head at all! You're the one who should remember that trial...! This place... achtung! This is ridiculous!"

Klavier's expression begins to sober further, and he calms down, trying not to panic, here, or just blindly assume something. He looks semi-angry, but it's more a confused expression than anything else. Genuine confusion.

He does not look happy to be discussing this. At all. "Herr Wright presented forged evidence in court just to get his client off the hook! I would know, I'm the one who prosecuted that trial...! My... the prosecutor's office received a tip he was even going to use that faked diary page the day before the trial. Everything they told me checked out completely--even the forger himself testified and said that piece of evidence was his work...!"

Klavier felt almost physically ill to think that she had no idea this... was going to happen. This was insane. He falls silent, for a moment. "... That was ( ... )

This... this was ridiculous. As well-constructed as his story may be, it was just that. A story. Without evidence, it was too baseless for Franziska to believe. It's either that this man was crazy or this place is stranger than she thought.

"Enough! I'm not going to waste my time listening to your lies!" she whips him again. "As much as a foolish fool that fool Phoenix Wright foolishly is, it is not like him to do something as insulting to me as forging evidence! The very claim is preposterous!"

Why did it take me so long to tag this. :| guiltyguitar March 16 2010, 03:43:38 UTC
As much as he hated to admit it, she had a point. Klavier managed to be slightly more gathered this time, however, after the initial shock has worn off. After that, he manages to not only expect the lashing, but avoid that whip cutting another hole in his jacket he didn't need.

"... As ridiculous as this is--will you take a moment to consider how impossible our current situation is?" ... He just smiles, out of habit, but it's forced. "... Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I need to go pinch myself to make sure I'm still awake."

Because her whip wasn't enough of a wake-up call, clearly. He refused to believe this--it was ridiculous. For now he'd just leave and hope that he'd have some way to prove this. ... Soon, anyway. It wasn't like he wanted Franziska angry with him. Still, her being seven years too young was just odd. It was giving him a headache, honestly, all of this.
