Whoa, what was that? Master? Ezio's eyes widened under his hood, glad that the other man couldn't see the look on his face. He stepped back when he bowed, rightfully startled and confused. He was a master assassin, yes, but, who was this man? Obviously he was part of the brotherhood if he could recognize the robes and everything that easily.
Still, he had never been approached like this. Along with the fact that he was just dropped into some random world, that was apparently underwater. And did he mention the fairy floating next to his head? Yeah, more than a little weird, and this was coming from the man that just heard the secrets of the universe and punched out the pope.
Ezio gave the other man a skeptical look with a slight incline of his head, "You are with the brotherhood, si?" he asked quietly, in case anyone was listening. Not that he needed to be discreet when the guy just bowed to him in public and called him master. "Stand up, brother." how lucky, maybe, that he ran into another one here.
"Vatheon? do you know anything else about it? How we arrived here?" maybe Rosa drugged his wine again.
"A prison?" he reiterated with an annoyed click of his tongue. Obnoxious, really. His life was just full of unwanted surprises. Here he thought he was done with magical nonsense now that he had spoken with Minerva. He was more than certain her message had nothing to do with being dragged to underwater cities.
All right, so they couldn't leave. Maybe that was for the better considering they were underwater and all, but there had to be a way back. If there was a way in, there was a way out. That was his logic, "Are there others here?" meaning are there other assassins, not random civilians. He could see there were people walking around, but he didn't think to approach just yet. He was wary, and hesitant. He needed more information, and he needed to know where the apple had gone.
Once more did Ezio look to the skies, a brow lifted as the man spoke. Some sort of strange magical barrier keeping a city submerged underwater. This sense made.
Now he turned his attention to the fairy when Altair pointed it out, and honestly, he didn't seem very threatened by it. "Scusa, brother, but to be fair, they look like they cannot do much of anything." Besides being obnoxious and floating by his head all the time. The was going to bother him. He pushed at his own fairy yet again, watching it sliiiide back over into its previous position.
"And what of this city? how many others are here?"
Ezio had been glancing off a bit, still staring at the surrounding area and taking everything in. When he looked back, he was going to open his mouth for a snarky retort, but found the man had revealed more of his face. This left the assassin utterly confused. No, maybe horrified. He couldn't think of the right emotion right now, honestly. So he just stared, taking one step back with his eyes narrowed slightly.
His face, that scar, those eyes. The other man looked extremely familiar. Not like 'oh, hey it's that one guy i saw last Wednesday in the market' no. Familiar as in he looked JUST. LIKE. HIM.
"1499." he answered faster than he should have, still surprised by the other's face. Dare he remove his own hood and see what the other did?
Ezio just stared back, still looking hesitant and wary. This man hadn't introduced himself, but little did he know the moment he did his mind would be blown a second, or third...maybe fourth time. Minerva blew his mind, ending up here did, being called master, and now-- "Ezio. Ezio Auditore da Firenze, and who are you?"
No. No. NONONONO. This was NOT happening! This wasn't happening at all! Come on Ezio, wake up! He had to be dreaming. Surely right now he was passed out, safe and sound in his bed--possibly next to a strange woman he didn't know--sleeping and dreaming of his ANCESTOR, and LEGENDARY ASSASSIN Altair in some underwater city.
Then he remembered that he felt pain, and the weight of his soaked clothes on his back. It was real. Dear sweet mother of God it was real.
"...Si" was all he could manage, utterly baffled by the whole ordeal, "Y--" How was he suppose to say that, "There is no way you could be the Altair I know of, the one that wrote the codex.--"
Ezio sighed, trying to calm his nerves and collect his thoughts. There had to be some proper way to explain all this. Clearly Altair had no idea what he was talking about...maybe he hadn't made the codex yet? All right, fine.
"It is a personal journal you kept. or will keep...--It is hard to explain." he waved a hand dismissively. This was too weird to go into detail now, "I believe it is obvious by now, but you are my ancestor. The ancestor of a great line of assassins."

Yeah, he wasn't making much sense.
