Gracia was surprised to see him come so quickly. His appearance was certainly unique, but that only took up a small fraction of her attention towards him. She greeted him with a smile that rivaled his own and stood from where she was sitting, holding on firmly to the SFC in her left hand. She bowed her head slightly, for politeness.
"Hello! You're Cielo." Gracia remarked rather obviously. "I'm glad to meet you in person. Did you run here?"
Cielo imitated her small bow for a moment, though he was not sure as to the significance of it. Well, that did not matter much; he was just glad to have found someone who seemed to enjoy smiling as much as he did.
"I did!" He gave her a cheerful grin, looking a little bit proud. "I am de fastest of my comrades." Not to mention the one filled with limitless energy.
It was only now that his accent sounded strange to her. Maybe the initial shock of being in a new place sort of hindered that realization when they were still talking on the starfish communicator? Whatever the case, Gracia found it endearing, and that only fueled her smile even more. It seemed like they'd be fast friends!
"Really? I don't think I can doubt that claim at all!" She laughs a little. "Cielo, what did you mean with what you said before? I'm can't help but wonder, now!" Gracia looked like a child at that moment⎯one that mimicked the expression of someone who was told about a candy store and can't wait to see it.
"Well, Gale always says dat you gotta use what ya got to yer advantage. And dat using heights is a good way to gather information." Cielo nodded a little, recalling their strategist's words. There was no reason to doubt them; after all, they had been proven correct countless of times already and if without that, Gale was a bunch smarter than him.
His smile seemed to gain a hint of mischief as he continued on, almost dragging it out a little. "Well, you're looking for your comrades, and I was thinking if we get up dere-" here he paused for a moment to point at the clear-blue, though domed, sky "-we could probably spot him for a mile away if 'e's here."
Gracia follows his movements and gazes up at the beautiful azure that lined above them. It looked even more beautiful than the regular sky, and she guessed it was because they were looking at it from beneath another layer of blue. Gracia tilted her head in confusion, however. She immediately turned to Cielo again, gripping her hands together.
It seemed that Cielo had been saving the biggest, most awesome reveal for last. His smile grew, a mixture of mischief and slight pride. There wasn't much he could like about having a demon form, but flying-- Flying was just amazing. Being that free, it felt better than anything. "I can fly."
Gracia literally took a step back. If it was possible for her eyes to widen even more, they probably did the moment his words left his mouth. He could fly? How was that possible?
...And at that point, did it really matter? Would a stranger deliberately come to her and lie about something as strange yet wonderful as that? She is speechless for a good three seconds before she manages an excited reply.
"What? Really? How? You have powers that can make you fly up in the air? That's amazing, Cielo!" She claps her hands together once. "You won't have a hard time searching for anyone with that ability! I hope you can find Mago. Will you fly back down here and tell me if you see him?"
He could not help but smile brightly at her reaction. Without knowing the downsides to having a demon form, all the perks had to seem wonderful. And well, anything that could get other people to smile that cheerfully was good in his book.
"I could take ya with me, if ya want." He grinned as he folded his arms behind his head, meeting her eyes. "I mean, Dyaus is strong. Dere'd be no problem carrying you. And you know your pal de best, right? You might spot 'im before I do."
Gracia was overflowing with positivity. Though the idea of going anywhere with a stranger was doubtful for many, Gracia was unlike them, for she believed in the good of everyone rather than what's the worst they could do. And she was in a new place, world, city...What could go wrong?
Plus, the idea of flying wasn't so bad either.
She inched closer to Cielo, peering at him with hopeful emerald eyes. "You'd do that? You'd take me up to the sky? Oh, but who's Dyaus? Your other friend? Will he be flying with us too?"
"Dyaus is like... Dyaus is me but not really?" Cielo scratched his cheek, not sure how to explain it. Something told him that referring to Dyaus as 'dat demon I become and eat people as' would not net him a great response. "It kinda hard to explain, but ya'll see. I'mma gonna change into 'im now. It might look a little scary but it's fine, kay?"
Cielo stepped back a bit to gain some space. He did not accidentally want to smack her with one of his wings after all. He waited a few seconds, in case she wanted to brace herself, before he closed his eyes. The atma on his thigh glowed wildly for a moment, before the transformation spread over his entire body, changing him, stretching out his bones until they became thin and oddly bird-like.
It didn't take more than a few seconds for Cielo to go from looking like a cheerful kid with a mop of brain to him looking like Dyaus. He just hoped she wasn't scared or anything.
As he transformed in that flash of light, Gracia stared and took a few steps back. Nobody could have been prepared for something like that. Not even her. And while she told herself not be frightened (following Cielo's own words), she couldn't help but feel a teensy bit agitated. Gracia blinked wildly, holding her breath. She searched the beasts' body movement and gaze...He wouldn't hurt her, would he?
Tentatively and cautiously, Gracia took her first few steps closer to Dyaus. While his outer appearance changed immensely, she couldn't feel anything else different from him.
The demon inclined his head a little, showing off a rows of needle-sharp teeth in what seemed to be the closest to a smile he could manage. "Ja. Is me." His voice was lower, darker, but still with that cheerful undertone and thick accent. He kept still where he was, hovering about half a foot above the ground to give her the chance to adapt to this. He remembered how weird it had been when Gale had first transformed. "Ya don't hafta worry. I definitely won't hurt ya."
I'm so sorry for the lateness! ;A; I hope you don't mind a backtag!kagayakashiAugust 26 2010, 13:58:12 UTC
Her mouth was still slightly agape, and Gracia was tempted to touch him. To see if he really turned into this...this...was it right to call it a monster? Technically, it was Cielo, and he wasn't any monster in her eyes.
However her reaction was to his transformation, Gracia couldn't help but follow her instinct. She felt no threatening danger from him, and the idea of flying overshadowed most logical reasoning she had going for her. She decided to take a leap of faith and approached Cielo in his strange new body. Gracia reached out to gently brush her fingertips against the bottom of his (its?) jaw, and she broke out into an eventual innocent grin.
No prob! This is too cute to abandon.dat_dyausAugust 27 2010, 21:16:42 UTC
Cielo leaned into the gentle touch against his jaw, a low sound rumbling in his chest. Though it was hard to tell on such a drastically changed face, he seemed to be enjoying the touch, finally straightening up to mirror her innocent grin with a much less innocent seeming (though in reality completely kind) grin of his own.
"I promise." He nodded, shifting his body a little so he could change the angle and height of his hovering, giving her way to climb up on his back. "I'll take you way up high and we'll find ya Mago."

Gracia's gaze was firmly set on Cielo's back. Slowly, she drifted her arm away from his face and started the trek up, feeling his hard exterior and was slightly unnerved for a brief moment; was she really going to mount on his back? Was this all a dream? Was she seriously going to fly?
...Yes. Yes she was!
A laugh bordering on bursting, she took in a deep breath and situated herself as comfortably as possible. She leaned in towards his head and asked, "Cielo, what if I fall? Will you catch me?"
fdgh Late! Sorry!dat_dyausSeptember 2 2010, 12:19:08 UTC
"Of course, I will!" He grinned, and with a slow beat of his wings, he took them up slightly higher, hovering a meter or two in the air with her to let her adjust. Her weight on his back was slight, so much easier to carrier than his comrades had been that one time.
"I can carry up ta three people, so ya don't hafta worry, sis!" He craned his neck a little, careful not to hurt her as he did. "Besides, dropping a cute girl like ya would be mean. I want ya to smile, ja? Not cry from falling."
