Okay, he wasn't sure if saying that was the right thing to do now. She had seemed as confused as he was about this place and he didn't exactly want to force anything out of her if she couldn't explain it.
He had just about raised his hand to disregard what he had said last when she began talking. Keeping silent, he pulled his hand back and crossed it over his chest, making sure to listen to whatever she had to say. He couldn't exactly fight the face he made when she said it was an underwater city. "Yeah... I kinda figured that when I saw the fish passed by. Man, it's like visiting the aquarium back in the city."
The whole idea of suddenly being somewhere wasn't new to him but the means of how he got there was was confused him. Whenever he went into the TV world, it was because he was with the others, or the few times that he tested it out from his own room. How he got here though was definitely not because he chose to do so.
"So you're new too, huh?" To him, the explanation sounded very much like how Teddie had explained the world inside the TV to him and Souji, minus the promise of having to find a murderer. He let out a somewhat exasperated sigh. "Ever think about asking the locals or something?" He hadn't ruled out the chance that there were other people around. It did look like a thriving city after all...
Sakura thought back on her only interaction with the locals, which had mainly consisted of them offering her a place to stay and asking her if she needed anything. Oh, and something about powering the barrier, which she hadn't really understood.
"I did talk to them, but they didn't tell me all that much," she said, shrugging a little. If he wanted to have a go talking to them, then he could be her guest. They creeped her out a little, truth be told.
In Sakura's experience, ending up in a completely different place to where you were supposed to be wasn't normal. And it was apparently just bad luck if you had been in the middle of something important. But she was trying not to think about what was going on back home.
"But yeah, I'm new," and she never really wanted to be 'old', in terms of this place. But- oh, better say something positive to even up all the bad news. "On the bright side... I'm pretty sure everything is free here."
"Huh," Yosuke said nodding at that. He supposed that it would be normal that people were somewhat wary about talking to strangers but it would help to get a little more information besides the name of the place, wouldn't it. "Guess I could try asking them myself sometime. I don't know that's gonna help much but it's worth a shot."
It was important that he found a way out of here as soon as he can. Who knows what the rest of the investigation team were doing, especially after Teddie had gone missing. And now he was on the same list too? It was just too weird for his liking.
He turned back to look at the girl for a moment. "Looks like we're on the same boat." A pause. He did not just say that, did he? Maybe hanging around that stupid bear for so long was rubbing off on him. No way he wanted that. "Uh, no pun intended." He laughed sheepishly, scratching the back of his head. On the other hand, hearing that things were free did catch his attention. "I suppose that is a good thing... if you're planning to stick around or whatever."
Despite that, he was thankful for whatever information she had given him for now. It was better than wandering around the place confused after all. He let out a hand and nodded at her. "My name's Yosuke, by the way. Thanks for the help..." He trailed off hoping that he could at least get her name.
"Haha, good one," Sakura chuckled a little-- in fact, that was the first time she had in a while now. Maybe this place was good for taking your mind off things, at least? Temporarily, maybe. And while it was important for her to find some way out as well, maybe it was better not to worry about it too much. Obviously this had happened for a reason, even if no one knew exactly what it was yet. "Or if we have to stick around for a while, it's also a good thing."
Sakura berated herself inwardly for forgetting her manners when he held out his hand. But she smiled, regardless, shaking his hand-- and although it felt weird, since it wasn't exactly a custom in Konoha, it seemed a lot friendlier than the usual method of greeting people. "I'm Sakura! And- no problem. I figure it's better that everyone here helps each other. It'll make it easier."
Sure, they had just met but Yosuke couldn't help but notice that she was even cuter when she laughed like that. He didn't even think that whatever he said would merit a giggle from anyone even a small one. It was definitely a surprise on his part but he made sure to smile back at her.
There was no way he wanted to stay here longer than he could, not when they had made a big break in the case back home. "Yeah, if have to stay here," he said before pulling his hand back to cross his arms once more. "It does. I mean if there's some way to get back home, I'll definitely take it."
A sigh escaped his lips as he looked back down and realized just how cold he was starting to get. "Guess that means I'll need to find a couple of new clothes around here then. I don't know about you but I don't think clothes will dry up quickly when they're underwater."
