Nasuti Yagyu was too entranced with the giant body of coral in the middle of the plaza to really notice that she was soaking wet. At first she thought the chill she felt was one of wonder and ( Read more... )

[Unless otherwise noted, this will be Simon's face / head, regardless of icon used. Mask is off until otherwise noted.]

The townspeople might sleep, but there was always someone awake. And for Simon, adjusting to a life where he actually could afford to sleep was proving difficult. Which was why he'd signed up for so many late night patrols for the Defense Force and, in turn, happened to spot the new arrival. Granted, as accustomed as he was to sneaking about in the dark cityscape of Gotham City, she probably hadn't spotted him. Fortunately, he wasn't a threat. Unfortunately, he had yet to learn that suddenly speaking up just a few feet behind someone in the dark tended to scare that someone half to death.

"Here. Take this. It's too cold to stay wet."

Well, at least he'd brought a towel to give her, right? A nice fresh one, and more importantly, one kept indoors. So at least it would be somewhat warm. He also had the foresight to remove his mask- that in particular probably saved her at least one panic attack. And although his current wardrobe didn't exactly scream 'trustworthy' as much as it did 'homeless,' Simon didn't look particularly threatening either. Then again, the small silver fairy fluttering around his person would have probably significantly lowered that intimidation factor anyway...

Nasuti did gasp, but fortunately for Simon, being chased by ancient corrupted warlords for a good six months or so did keep her on guard and--while maybe not prepared--expectant of just about anything. She made a quick glance over her shoulder before turning around completely, and took a single step forward.

Right. It was cold here, wasn't it? All at once, Nasuti became acutely aware of her surroundings. It was chilly, the giant mass in the middle of the plaza was coral. She took a glace upwards, and saw that--contrary to all logic, her first suspicion was correct. She was underwater in some sort of reverse-aquarium.

"Thank you." Nasuti gave pause for a moment before taking the towel, but kept an eye on the fellow as she wrapped it around her shoulders. "I'm surprised to see anyone here this late at night."
