To every story, there's two sides. To this particular story- there were multiple sides.
Point A had lead to point Q in a matter of a few short hours. It was an incredible thing and Izaya was still reeling. Literally. The man was

Of course she does. But Izaya didn't. That and he was having trouble reading the blurring text. Celty didn't have to keep moving it but some quiet, logical part of Izaya's brain reminded him that she probably wasn't moving the phone at all.
"Nn, yeah sorta," he replied after a moment. "When was the last time we talked?" he asked, but instantly grinned. Drunken stupor or not- it didn't matter. Izaya was still up for being a jerk to Celty if ever given the chance.
"Oh right. When you were missing your sweet, freak of a lover Shinra," he said, sliding down her bike so that he could prop his arms up and rest his head into his hands.
"It must be so difficult," he said, "Being in love. I could never imagine stooping to such a pathetic, human level of devotion, affection and enthrallment. I mean, isn't a lover just another way to blur your mental and emotional well being and do things you normally wouldn't? Being in love makes people so illogical and irrational. It's dangerous!"

That was enough.
Humans do a lot of things that are dangerous.
Being in love. It's nice.|
Hopeful that this conversation would turn out a bit different, despite his overall appearance, she continued to type:
Don't you ever get lonely?|

Which would now make two times that Celty has caught him in a vulnerable moment. They had to stop meeting like this. It was really starting to kill Izaya's reputation and he wasn't a big fan of that.
He narrowed his eyes and leaned in close to read the last question. Lonely? For a moment, he recalled a day where it seemed like everyone in Ikebukuro had a hot pot party and everyone was invited except for Izaya.
His face went flat and his eyes hooded as he gazed blankly at the phone. Shinra had always been an eccentric loner but somehow Celty, despite her being headless, was a relatively normal person in terms of normal human- seemed to love him. Then there were those two kids- Erika and Walker who were vicious creatures and just as eccentric but had found each other in this maddeningly large world. Even Namie with her disgustingly creepy thing for her brother- her brother who was madly in love with a head...Had found love. Even if it was incredibly demented.
Then there was Shizuo. A monster with a horrible temper. Not only did he have a close relationship with his brother, someone who was obligated to love him, but other people too. There was Tom, Vorona, Akane, Celty, and arguably Shinra...
And then there was Izaya. Who did he have? Shinra was his friend but he didn't suspect the feelings were too mutual. Waitwaitwait.
He was thinking too much.
"Nah," he said, shoving her phone out of his face, "Not really," he said and straightened up off of her bike. The delay had been a little too long but a few minutes were a few seconds in his drunk mind.
"Besides, that has nothing to do with love."

And that appeared wrong. Not much of a fight or anything snarky about his reply, but it was "no go." She should have known...
Even like this, Izaya wouldn't let his guard down.
It doesn't?|

"Guh," he groaned, shaking his head. "I didn't want to think about this sort of thing tonight. What are you getting at Celty?" he asked, looking somewhat irritated now.
"If you have something to say, just say it. I don't feel like thinking about love and loneliness when I'm having a good time."

One, continuing prodding in the mind of an unstable guy like Izaya...
Two, actually be helpful and convince him to home.
She could hear a little voice whisper "no, no, that's not good at all." Going to that level could be a bit too much, despite how curious she was.
It's nothing.
I also don't think walking around like that qualifies as a good time.
At least for other people.|

"Celty, when was the last time that you had a good time? And when was the last time that I cared if other people were having a good time?" he asked, because honestly. He did sort of enjoy wrecking peoples lives from time to time and that could very well include public inebriation.
In all fairness though, considering how he never drank, Izaya seemed to be suspiciously stable.
"So are you going to drive me home on that lovely horse of yours?" he asked, patting the front of the bike as though it were a horse.

The Dullahan had little to say at this point. She had already cursed herself with the responsibility of returning Izaya home, where he could possibly be less of an eyesore. So that means giving up on the direction this conversation was going...
Instead, there is the movement of her shoulders that indicates a sigh.
Hop on.|

Izaya stepped back from the bike and wandered around to the side. He hesitated a moment as he stood next to the woman. "You know," he said, thoughtfully, "I don't think you've ever given me a ride before on your bike. Do I get one of your cute little helmets? Ahh! I hope mine has cat ears," he said, gesturing to his head with his hands.
He pulled himself a bit clumsily up onto the back of her bike and grabbed onto the bike rather than the dullahan herself.
"Allllll right. Do you know where I live?" he asked, leaning over somewhat as though to look at the face she didn't have.

Turning back, she readies herself until a small realization, placing her foot back down on the pavement. Hopefully he doesn't mind her PDA shoved back in his face.
Don't fall off.|

"So is Celty a stalker now too? Eheh," he snorted, leaning forward a bit more. "I never knew you cared~."
Izaya had never really minded. Not to mention it was easier for the informant not to care in his current supposed state of being.
He remained surprisingly silent for the most part though. Until that is he decided to get a little bit personal.
"So what's it like, having a lover?"

You make our relationship sound temporary.|
Lover.
She didn't like the sound of it too much. Personalizing the question with his name was much more comforting-- Yes, she loved Shinra and believed it would always be that way. Her only worry was getting home and that would be it.
She reaches back one more time.
But he's the best thing that ever happened to me.|
And a brief pause.
Don't make fun of me.|

"You're some sort of angel that can immortalize a man," he said in thoughtfulness, "But I doubt you know whether or not you are..."
He looked forward again and raised a brow, a jeering expression evolving on his face.
"Nyahaha! How old are you? You're seriously telling me some perverted doctor is the best thing that's happened to you? I don't get it, Celty, nyahaha, I don't get it. How can some individual be that great? That impacting on your life...?" he asked, seeming to be a little more coherent than he had been a few minutes ago.

She reaches back every once in a while, but her eyes stayed on the road.
My only focus was retrieving my head.
But what was I going to do after that? I didn't understand my purpose. I was depending on finding it. It would solve everything, but...
He made me feel there was something more to my life. I wasn't just|
Then the Dullahan abruptly pulled the PDA back as they slowed to a stop.
I'm not here to discuss my feelings, okay? I'm just here to get you home.
And we're here.|
