[Renton, thankfully still fifteen, is just wandering about with his Starly on his shoulder when-

... He knows that green hair.]

[ Someone said his name! N squirms to be able to look at who said it; is it Ghetsis? He hopes it is --

No. He has no idea who that is. He watches the boy, wide-eyed. ]

Okay, definitely him, but... why is he a kid?

[Muttering to himself-oh right, he should say something.]

Um... hi! I'm Renton. Since you don't seem to remember me...

[He points to the Starly.]

And this is Diane!

[No, he has no idea what he's doing.]

[ N looks worried -- but then he spots the Starly. His eyes light up and he reaches out his hands, giving a bird-like call.

Reshiram gently sets the child down, now that he seems unlikely to dart off. ]

[At the call, Diane flies off of Renton's shoulder and to N, as Renton smiles.]

[ N reaches out to hold her, babbling nonsense to her that will translate to the bird, at least: Why are you with that person? ]

[At that, Renton tilts his head to the side, confused, but not saying anything.

And meanwhile, the Starly responds: Because I enjoy being with him.]

[ But he's a person! And people are mean! It does not seem to entirely occur to the child that he, too, is a human being. ]
