You're that far back? Where I'm from when we already defeated Toguro and won the dark tournament. Kuwabara is even farther than that. He's a few years older than me.

Time doesn't seem to mean anything when you're here. He's been gone for almost just as long.

No one's told you your situation yet, have they?

Basically this stupid coral entity, Lamufao, summoned your here to use your energy to strengthen the barrier around this place. Your power is halved, or at least mine is. Sometimes the coral likes to break out with curses, but those are confusing and you're better off asking someone else about them.

[He pointed a hitched thumb behind him to direct her gaze.] There's an elevator that leads to the surface now, but the island it leads to is abandoned, and I don't think anyone's tried to leave this place through there yet. Half the forest seems to be protected by a barrier too, but I wasn't able to break it so I can't tell you what it's hiding from us.

No, I've only had the locals to talk to up until this point. They're not very open to questions.

They never are. It's sorta creepy how they baby us and never want us to do anything until shit hits the fan.

All we can do is live here if there's no means of escape. I'm not sure if I wanna try to leave through the island. It's bad enough I couldn't break through the barrier in the forest up there. Something's definitely up. [He wanted to check it out too.]

Kuwabara and I share a house on Phanga. It ain't much, but we wouldn't mind if you booked it with us.

Geez Botan, give us a little credit. [Actually Kuwabara kept the place spick-and-span. It was Yusuke was the messy one.]

Besides, if we let you go living by yourself, it would be bad form. Some people don't even have friends from the same world here. We learned it's best to stick together.
