Perhaps Goddess Fate was smiling down on Ven on his search for Aqua after meeting the boy with covered eyes. It so happened that she was taking a walk to give her new companion, a huge black dog she found about a few days ago, some fresh air after being cooped up inside the hotel room all day. The canine was strangely well-behaved for a stray, staying at her side without the use of a leash which suited her just fine

After talking to Riku, Ventus felt happier about being here. Aqua was here which was both a good and bad thing but at least he knew where now. So he started off in that direction. It wasn't long before he saw the familiar blue hair and her voice calling his name.
"Aqua!" He started to run to her, stopping short and grinning. "Aqua!" He said again and started stroking the dog. "Riku said you were here."
To say she was shocked was an understatement. Aqua was absolutely floored in seeing Ven awake and speaking to her. She left him in that room... sealed away! He was in an eternal slumber...
"V-Ven..." she stuttered, frozen in place. Her mind warred with logic and her senses, trying to make sense if the boy petting the black shepherd dog was real or not. Her mind must be playing tricks on her. How could he be awake now?
She lifted a hand, gingerly placing it on his shoulder to find that he was indeed standing in front of her. Alive and well. "You're here..." She really couldn't help herself when the young master pulled him into her arms. Aqua held him in a tight embrace, hiding her face away as she forced back tears.
"... yes." She forced a quiet chuckle and took in a deep breath, a carefully placed smile appearing across her lips when she pulled away. "I just... I missed you, Ven! You've no idea how good it is to see you."
He doesn't know. Absolutely nothing about Terra's fight with darkness, Xehanort's betrayal... their fallen master. Did she even have the courage to tell him?
"I'm really happy to see you." That was the truth. But... she knew he was still in that white room, sleeping soundly and deeply. It was the most frustrating thing: to feel so elated only to taste the bitterness of sorrow.
"It's good to see you too Aqua. Did you find Terra?" He looked up curious. He knows she's hiding something but she always had been since she became a Master. So he just smiled and waited for answers he might not get.
"... I did, in our world. But he isn't here. It's just the both of us," she answered, the shock slowly fading as reality settled in. She took note of the dampness of his clothes and frowned in concern. "We need to get you into some warmer clothes. The weather is getting colder and I don't want you getting sick."
There she goes again, mothering him. Sure, it might bother him a little but she did it out of love! Aqua was always worried about Terra and Ven, constantly thinking of them and wondering if they were doing alright without her.
"So, you found Riku? He must have already explained Vatheon to you."
"That's what Riku said." He smiled at her through her mothering. "Why don't we go inside then?" Gesturing back the way she had come, assuming that was where she was staying at the moment.
"And we mostly talked about you and Terra. He said he'd bet you both before."
At the mention of Terra's name, Aqua raised a brow at the young keyblade wielder. Ven must have asked Riku if he'd seen Terra but... Riku never said he met Terra. At least, not to her... Her thoughts took her back to that early evening on the island when she first met Riku and Sora. She remembered telling herself that someone had already passed the power to Riku and she wondered if it had been Terra. "Could it be true then? Did Terra..." she muttered softly, a whisper too low for Ven to hear.
She felt a sharp tug at the blue sash tied around her waist and the motion dragged her out of her musings. Looking down, she found that her canine companion was pulling at the sash and trying to get her attention before running off after Ven. When Aqua looked up, he was already halfway toward the hotel. "Wait up, Ven!"
Ven had decided to go exploring while Aqua seemed to a little out of it. The dog had followed and the boy smiled. But when Aqua called his name, he stopped and turned. "Joining us, Aqua?" He laughed. "Are you going to show me around?"
She couldn't help but laugh as well, feeling a little bit of her anxiety melting away. "Well, I haven't had much of a chance to look around myself... what with all that's happened in the past few weeks." For instance, the sudden attack from the Kraken that appeared out of nowhere and causing much destruction. Hence why some of the streets and buildings have been block to keep the residents from entering dangerous areas that needed to be cleaned up.
"But we can explore this place together after you've rested, if you'd like."
Ven nodded. "Sounds good." He continued to grin, stroking the puppy and waiting for Aqua to lead him inside. This place didn't seem so bad and it would be better with Aqua here too!
How long has it been since she last saw his smiling face? She wondered for a moment before forcing herself to keep her thoughts at bay, for now. The important thing was to get Ven tended to and rested. But the first obstacle was to get back inside the hotel without the owner noticing the large, black dog trailing behind the two keyblade wielders. Aqua had to do this a number of times after finding out that pets were not allowed inside the building.
Upon approaching the hotel, Aqua stopped just before the door and turned towards Ven. "Listen... there's something we have to do first," she started as she looked around for any locals who might be watching.
Stopping, he looked at Aqua, confused but still grinning. "Whatever it is, you know I'll help." He'd always help Aqua and he was glad she was realising it and not telling to just go home.
