Wednesday. 7pm. A calm, normal day in Vatheon. Nothing betrays what is coming. And yet the signs were there, if only someone had been able to see them for what they were

Onion Knight thought quickly. They had at least three magic users (one who also had protective magic) and someone commanding and riding something that looked like a dragon (possibly making him a Pokémon trainer?), though it would be hard to communicate with him while he was still airborne. Four of them used a melee weapon (he was assuming the ribbon was supposed to be a weapon), though it seemed like the white-haired boy had no magic. Or at least, favoured the sword. The silver-haired one's sword skills seemed stronger than his magic, but there may not be enough space for two people to be in melee. The first girl had ranged weapons (those were... guns, right?) that would probably be more effective now that the tentacle's flesh was exposed.
"I have electric spells, too," Onion Knight said, letting electricity crackle along his sword to demonstrate. Thinking aloud, he continued, raising his voice in hopes the others further away would be able to hear, "How about we weaken it a bit more with ranged attacks? Then if everyone who can use electric spells strikes at the same time, we might be able to stun it long enough for someone to cut through the rest of the tentacle!"
Mami regarded the newcomers with a nod, voicing her thanks for the barrier that was protecting them now. With a flick of her wrists, more ribbons appeared, wrapping around the tentacle, bounding it with her magic until it can't move. The puella magi gave it a tug, satisfied that the ribbons were tight enough. This should make things easier for now.
"That should do it." Mami adds with a calm smile. "Everyone, please hurry. I don't know how long I can hold the limb like this."
At Mami's request, and with understanding of Onion Knight's proposal, Red quietly agrees from his height. But in favor of the plan, he flies lower and jumps down to the ground. Within a flash, he switches the Pokemon he's handling, a little Pikachu jumping out and landing in front of him.
"I'll contribute to the electric wave," Red said as his eyes remain focused on the binded tentacle. Despite its temporarily stopped state, it may break loose sooner than expected and start thrashing around wildly again.
"Everyone, let's do our best!" he cheered for all of them, fleeting a quick smile for each of his team members.
He waited for a good timing afterwards, allowing the others to ready their own positions.
He'd wanted to stop thinking and here was an opportunity. He didn't understand what was going on with these people, but he was a lot better at following orders than puzzling things out for himself.
He let his Soul Eater blade vanish with a tiny wisp of purple smoke, then turned his attention to the tentacle again. With one hand, he started another Thunder attack, then he brought his other hand up as well. With both of them sending out blasts of energy towards that gap in the tentacle's flesh, it was the best Thundara spell he could make on short notice.
To his surprise, it was working. With all of them sending out those electrical waves, the tentacle was getting both charred and twitchy without countering their attacks.
Siegfried was hardly about to jump into the middle of that, but he wished dearly that he could do more to contribute to this part of the combat. However, he returned Red's swift grin with his own confident smile.
"Of course! We shall certainly triumph..."
Sliding into his stance, he fixed the tentacle in his clear golden gaze and was most satisfied with what he saw. The coordination was showing its efforts well, and he hoped to be able to offer something more decisive himself before long. He did not doubt the power of his blade, for all that it was ill-suited to a fight like this, and he wished to show as much.
Amane nodded, understanding the plan. Stunning the enemy, then strike it hard with physical attacks. A familiar tactic she saw in the lockdown, if someone's electric spell succeed in stunning the enemy. Weakening them while attacking from range also helped, too.
Once again, her hands crackled with electricity before she cast the Ziodyne spell at the tentacle, joining in with other electricity in the attack.
Onion Knight was grateful for the immobilising effect of the gun girl's ribbons; it definitely made striking the tentacle much easier. Raising his sword, he added his own Thundaga spell to the wave of electricity, powerful bolts of lightning striking from above.
The tentacle looked like it was on its last legs, thanks to everyone's efforts. "Alright! We've got it! Let's finish this off!"
A signal for those who wanted to get close and personal with the tentacle to give it everything they had.
Siegfried took the signal by actions, not words, as he leaped again. Not quite so high this time; no, he would take advantage of the tentacle's immobility properly now, while it was still inclined to last.
He soared through the air on the tip of the tentacle balanced on a single foot, swinging his other leg forward and using the force of it to lead him forward at a swift pace. Each step was carefully placed, the concentration for it was bright in his eyes as he made the journey.
His dash took him upward, and he soon reached what he judged to be an ideal point to sever the limb from the body. His sword seemed to flare in the light as he struck against it, and this time, the edge encountered little resistance from the charred tentacle. It all but crumbled under his slash, a single stroke was almost more than enough. His hands tightened on the hilt nonetheless, determined to see the stroke through, and only when metal glistened in the air on the other side did he pull away.
As it came free, he pushed off from the beast, twirling as he guided himself to the ground. He returned gently, his feet soundlessly meeting the ground, accompanied only by a decisive nod.
"That is one victory. But there are more needed..."
After letting out a relieved and small sigh, Red is finally able to give a proper smile to each of them. Pikachu does, too. The little mouse Pokemon squeaks happily from where he stood, giving them cheerful glances as if to say, "good work, everyone!"
"Yes. But we did it... Everyone, thank you. Hopefully, that paralyzes or weakens the creature, even for just a while."
Taking that time, Red just wishes to extend appreciation for these people who protected the city with him. He turns around now, then nods to each of them.
"My name is Red. It's very pleasing to work and meet with you all."
At the signal, Rep had given up on his magical skills and summoned his Soul Eater blade again. He Corridor-Stepped to a different line of attack from the white-haired swordsman, pushed off a building with as much force as he could manage, and thrust the blade into the creature's wound.
The pain that shot through his hands was so incredible that it made him leap away almost instantaneously, into a crouching position among the other combatants.
He knew that boy Red already - he supposed his changed appearance was what had thrown him off. Between that and the notion of an introduction, it soured all of the thrill of the battle for Rep. He was back to thinking again - thinking about what people called him, what he called himself, and who was responsible for the discrepancies, for better and for worse.
Standing up, he just started to walk away - towards another area he hoped would allow him to fight instead of think, if only for a little longer.
At Onion Knight's prompting, Mami loosens the bindings on the tentacle, turning them into one really big matchlock rifle. She fires it after the others have attacked it with their own weapons.
"Tiro Finale!"
She sends it away afterwards, answering Red and the others with a bow. "My name is Mami Tomoe. Thank you for your hard work, everyone."
At the corner of her eye, she noticed someone walking away, the other boy who was using magic and some kind of sword. Should she stop him from walking away?
This wasn't a foe that his sword was going to be particularly effective against, so Onion Knight stood back when the others moved in to finish off the tentacle.
At the introductions, Onion Knight gave a small nod in acknowledgement before adding his own 'name' to them. "Onion Knight." They didn't really have time to stand around and talk, though. "If we stick together, we can take down more of the--"
But wait, someone was walking away. Ahhh where was that guy going? Onion Knight would be more willing to let him just walk off if he hadn't been the one to open the initial wound on the tentacle in the first place.
So instead, he said, "Let's go!" and followed after, hoping the others would, too.
At the signal to attack, Amane cast another electric spell at the tentacle. After some of the others attack physically, so the spell struck their opponent at the same time as the girl's large gun.
When the introductions came, she looked the others. "Amane Kuzuryu." Just her name. There's no need to mention her position to them right now.
...Hm? That young man was walking away. By himself. Frowning a bit, Amane followed after him with Onion Knight.
At last, he lowered his blade, his eyes sparking and snapping with a particular golden fire. Strangely enough, his blood boiled more now, out of combat, than it had when he had pressed himself to be calm for the sake of maintaining steady skill. Still, he regarded the others evenly.
The prince's introduction was somewhat more fanciful, but more by habit than design. He swept a short bow, and rose to offer his name. "I am Prince Siegfried."
Then, as Replica began to leave and Onion Knight called for them to follow, he immediately launched himself into a grand jeté, a dancer's jump, using the air to catch up all the more quickly with those who departed. Until the battle was completed, he would see this through. Even if he could do little, he would not abandon anyone.
Now that most of them knew each other's names, they would be able to signal each other better, if they're going to work together for a while. Red's smile doesn't fade, trying to keep up an encouraging glance for them. Perhaps the next ones won't be as easy as that, but they will surely do all of their best.
Though, he can't help but wonder about the other boy... There appears to be more within that mind, aside from probably not wanting to get close to any of them. However, he doesn't pry and merely nodded to himself. Whatever each their reasons are, as long as they share the same goal of wanting to protect those around them, then that is good enough... At least, for now.
Red held his arms open for Pikachu to jump in. And right afterwards, he wasted no time in following the rest of them.
Realizing that the whole group of them was behind him, Rep turned around and scowled.
"Why are you following me!?"
He backed up a few feet, letting a cloud of dark energy build up behind him. When it had fully manifested into a Dark Corridor, he took another step backwards and rotated to face the corridor again.
"I don't expect help from anyone."
