Wednesday. 7pm. A calm, normal day in Vatheon. Nothing betrays what is coming. And yet the signs were there, if only someone had been able to see them for what they were

The rumble of the bubble encasing them caught her off guard. What, what had that been? Water splashed to the floor where it had been floating around her while she practiced and now Feferi moved to the window of her room, her eyes alighting to the sight of...
The cutest thing she has seen.
Ever.
Well, maybe not ever. At least since entering here! But the poor thing was really distraught and definitely didn't want to play nice. Ooohh, this wasn't swimming well for everyone, and the swelling of water into the bubble was dangerous and could really strand everyone in the deep end if it continued. But, no, it... okay well that works! Well, maybe no for that poor creature, it's long arms whipping around inside of the bubble still. No, this wasn't going to do! Even if he was cute, this was only going to hurt a lot of people.
"Ooohh, fish sticks!"
Feferi cursed with a huffed breath, moving out of her apartment quickly, hand already gripping her trident and water already encircling her free hand. She couldn't let the people of Vatheon get hurt, even if it meant... hurting such a beast. Feferi tried not letting that feeling in her cardiovasculaer pump get to her. The feeling that this creature looked a great deal like her custodian, at least in structure. How it's body moved, arms swirling, trailing off of it like the tendrils her lusus. This was going to hurt her. This beast...
They had to finish this as quickly as possible. Ugh. Feferi clenched her teeth. She felt kind of sick...
Oh, distraction! Shin... Shin! It's been so long. And he's... yelling at it? Silly guy, why is he yelling at tentacles! Feferi quickly runs over to him, the water drifting around her making rather long whip like tendrils as she raises her trident, holding it like a staff t one side.
"Oh you, so silly. I don't think it has ears in it's arms."
Eruka's day had been going well, until this point. She'd actually been awake despite the late hour, idly scribbling down magical equations when the pounding began. Immediately she doused all the lights and sat in the darkness, heart pounding. When the power drain came, she was glad she was sitting, but just as soon as it had begun it was over--
Clink!
Her eyes went wide and round as she stared at the skull-faced collar now on the desk in front of her, stunned. "O-Oh..."
Half in a daze, she walked out of the Pendilium building, but the splash of icy water across her ankles brought her back to her senses. Which may, or may not, have been a good thing considering that was when she first noticed the waving tentacles heading towards her and the two figures on the street.
Shin spared a smile for Feferi, and by extension the new girl on the scene, then set his face more severely. "What's going on is you'll have to defend yourself from it or run!" With no other explanation, he raised his left arm into the air.
"Buso! Suiko!" And thus began his transformation sequence* - bolts of cloth and cherry blossoms swirled around, then burst away to reveal him in a full suit of armor, complete with a mancatcher-like weapon.
Then he smirked over at Feferi. "I never thought I'd have to use my powers here, but now you know why I'm so at home in the water, for a human."
[*This is the English version, the only one I could find on youtube. :'(]
"WEEeeeell, seems like this big guy here is trying to throw us all to the fishes!"
Feferi giggles, looking over to the other girl. A human? Not sure! She had a cute outfit though. Feferi twirled her trident, at her side, over her head, infront of her, water swirling about her, and oohhh, that was fun! She loved that soooo much, learning that magic was prooobably one of the coolest things ever.
Even if... she didn't really want to use it to hurt the creature. I mean...
It was really cute.
She looked back to Shin, eyes alighting, a smile dragging from ear to ear.
"Oh wow! Flashy, heehee. I think was was a little show boaty to me though." Said through glubs and giggles.
"But I'm, happy to see this for myself! OOohhhhhh! This is so EXCITING!"
Twirling her trident again, her body practically writhing with joy, she looks back to the Kraken, taking a deep breath and nodding to herself.
"I'm fighting it head-on!" Shin responded, sort of to both of them, as he leaped into the air. How on earth he did that in such bulky gear, who knew. "You can run if you like, but Suiko no Shin is ready!"
He pulled his yari up, struck it deep into the tentacle as he landed on it, and then willed the pincers to clamp tighter. Suddenly I'm more grateful than ever for those broom lessons. That allowed him to remain on the tentacle for a few moments, but soon he was thrown into a building's exterior wall.
His whole head was ringing, but it was nothing he hadn't felt before, so he staggered to his feet.
"Probably lived somewhere nearby! I mean, we're kind of under water and everything." Siiighhh.
"I bet all the commotion we caused here bothered the poor little guy." She shoots a rather annoyed look at Shin who seems very okay with hurting this creature. And... he's still yelling at it! That's so silly! It's head is outside of the bubble! Also, how could it run? It's arms were stuck, and they were in WATER! It'd be swimming. SHEEEEESH.
"Seeeeriouslyyyyy, oh my gluuuuuuub. Shin stop being so- OH CARP!" She was about to comment on him being a silly mother glubber, but then he leaped onto the tentacle and got thrown into a building! Feferi jumped to attention, pursing her lips and looking back to the tentacle.
"I know you can't hear me but I'm really sorry, tangle buddie..." She said with a small nod and then ran forward. The tentacle lifted up and flicked it's end at her, trying to knock her to the side. Feferi quickly moved a hand to shoot water up at each flail of the tentacle, deflecting it's blows and then jumped up, piercing her trident into the tentacle. Feferi whined, seeing and feeling the metal sink it and then felt as the tentacle quickly jerked around trying to whip her off.
Much like Shin she found herself flailing away, blood trickling after her from where her trident got ripped out of the flailing tendril. She managed to create a small layer of water behind her to stop her from falling back to far and gasped, standing back to her feet.
Eruka winced when Shin was thrown into the building, and Feferi tossed off in much the same manner. Like when she'd faced the fish-monsters, her feet felt rooted to the ground in uncertainty. And not unlike that battle with Mizune and Crona against Black*Star, she had no plan.
I can't... I can't do anything! I won't make any difference!
The tentacle came back around, now poked and bleeding in spots, and all she found herself able to do with utter a short shriek before it smacked into her. Immediately she was stuck to one of its suckers, and in response the tentacle closed around her tightly, turning her scream into a wheeze as it lifted her into the air.
Shin took a few steps forward, then set his feet firmly apart. "Chou Dan Do!" He pulled his yari back, then thrust it forward. "Chou Ryu Ha!"
The pincers of his yari jerked backward at the forward momentum, and from it came a blast of water in a horizontal column aimed up at the tentacle. It wasn't aimed at where the young witch was being held - but rather a little further up the tentacle, in hopes that it would force the beast to let go or at least loosen its hold.
Part of the problem was that Shin could feel he wasn't at full power. Maybe it was Vatheon, maybe it was just because he hadn't used his power in so long, but he couldn't just stand back any longer. He had to try.
"I'm not shouting at the creature, Feferi - I'm shouting for myself! I don't like the idea of hurting an innocent creature either-" He could hear the fondness in her voice. "But can you hear it? It won't stop until it's destroyed us - starting with her!"
"OOooh, GLUBBER." Feferi sighs angrily, seeing the tentacle grab the strange girl. Why was she just standing there!? Sheeeeesh! That was dangerous! If she didn't think she could do anything here then why did she swim all the way to the deep end? She was just making this harder for everyone by putting herself in danger.
Another growl under her breath and she raises a hand water pooling above it, swirling around vigorously and Feferi slung her hand forward, the water coming out like whips to lash around the tentacle. Feferi tried to yank and pull with her whip like water tendrils, trying to force the tentacle to loosen it's grip.
"I can see that! Uuuugggh, it doesn't make this any easier though! It's just a whale of extra noise!"
Eruka was flopping around on the end of the tentacle like a proverbial ragdoll, her arms pinned at her sides so she couldn't even brace herself against the back and forth motion. She was starting to look almost as green as her frog form.
"Ge-ee-eee-eet me down!" she wailed, the pitch of her voice rising and falling each time the tentacle lashed around. "A-Aim for the baaa-aa-aa-aaase of it!"
The tentacle was being pinched off by where it came through the barrier. Like holding a long lock of hair near the scalp, it was probably cutting off a lot of the tip's ability to feel the attacks.
Abruptly, and seeming out of nowhere, true Sailor Moon style, a sailor-outfit-clad teenage girl appears and promptly creates a freezing fog that creates a solid ice coating over the entire tentacle. It's now wide open for attack!
Feferi watches the girl held by the tentacle with slight amusement. She might not be fully aware of how dangerous this is! She's just, this is just, oh cod, so exciting! She feels bad beause they have to hurt this cute little guy... and he's hurting people... But it's so silly how that girl sounds as she tries to talk while she's being flailed around! Feferi's dong her best to try and control her giggles and soon takes a deep breath.
"Roger frogger! Eeeeheeheehee." For soooome reason that seemed fitting! She could make amphibian jokes too, right? Right. Feferi's eyes trial down the tentacle and she nearly jumps when she sees it coat in ice, jerking her head to look at the help that arrived. Ooohhh, ice! So COOL!
"Thanks!" Said quickly before darting over to the tentacle, moving to the base that's being pinched by the barrier and with full force pierces her trident into it, cracking ice and then pulling up. The tongs rip through flesh and she darts back, taking a deep breath. A small frown appears on her face at what she did, but... This was something they had to do!
Shin's eyes darted up to the female voice that sounded so familiar and yet he couldn't place it. "Thank you!" And then he was right back to the task at hand.
Feferi's strike did indeed snap off a good chunk of the tentacle, and Shin stepped quickly over to jab his yari into the still-warm part clinging to the young woman. Then, he extended a metal-clad hand to help her up, along with a smile. "Are you okay n--"
His head snapped back up to the hole in the barrier where the tentacle-stump remained. "No..." The beast was pushing more of its limb into Vatheon, smashing into buildings more like a club than a whip now. "NO!"
Eruka put one hand to her head dizzily, rather shocked to find herself back on the ground and still in one piece. "I think so..." she said, but he was no longer listening.
Seeing the stub flail around, she chewed on the inside of her cheeks in a nervous gesture. Her usual mantra of don't get involved, don't draw attention, can't make any difference was going through her head, and it was very hard to ignore. These are capable people. They can handle this. They don't need your help!
But still... they'd just saved her...
"U-Um..." she began, probably too quietly to even be heard so she tried again, this time a little louder. "I can tie it in one place."
LMFAO. Sob, sorry, tl;dr. Won't be this long in the future. ;~;marauderinggrimOctober 4 2011, 07:33:02 UTC
After being gone, what felt like to him, for so long, going through hell and then waking back up here and soaking wet only to find the place being assaulted by God-knew-what, Sirius was more than a little pissed for the home-coming.
He didn't know what was going on, but he could guess by the way people were running around that this was some sort of attack and that was enough to set him into action. He dashed home, running inside long enough to go to his room, note Shin wasn't there, grab the wand he'd bought before he'd been pulled away for just a case as this, and then grab his bike and take off. He needed to see what was going on.
Tentacle creature....of course...trust some squid to attack the bubble city. He noted some flashes and yelling nearby and noticed the group had already done significant damage to their tentacle; he might as well start there and move on, if needed. Descending low enough to be just above them, he fired off a series of spells to distract it and, hopefully, shock it as well, assuming he wasn't that badly out of practice.
However, the pain the spells brought only seemed to irritate it more and the thing flailed about more, threatening to hit the others like a fly-swatter "Watch out!" He shouted down, hoping to warn them, before maneuvering so that he could avoid getting hit himself. However, he wasn't fast enough and part of the tentacle clipped a wheel of his bike and sent the thing crashing out from under him, leaving him to free fall towards the ground.
The cutest thing she has seen.
