Wednesday. 7pm. A calm, normal day in Vatheon. Nothing betrays what is coming. And yet the signs were there, if only someone had been able to see them for what they were

[ Gracia is not yet by the glowing doors - heck, she doesn't even know they're glowing yet - but she's anxiously waiting by the front porch of the 12th house in Olie, looking left and right for anyone to come by. She was given explicit permission by her father to go down the cavern to check the doors if and only if somebody went with her. ]
[ She's literally bouncing on the spot, biting her lip, ready to take the hand of the next person to run across her just so she can check the doors. She had this feeling that heartbeat and what was inside the doors could help solve this problem! Trying her best to ignore that crashing sound from yet, another tentacle attack, Gracia is groaning and sighing and ready to do something! ]
Somebody has to come soon...! Ohh, what's going on? Why is it attacking us all of a sudden...? What did we do?
[ TL;DR THE NEXT PERSON TO COME BY, YEAH GET READY TO BE DRAGGED ALONG BY GRACIA, HERE. ]
[There's a man walking nearby, appearing rather calm in the middle of a chaotic event. Not that he's not worried about the state of Vatheon, but he knows that he can't really do much to help. He's a guardian, not a warrior.]
[He glances at Gracia when he sees her fidgeting in place, cocking his head slightly in curiousity.] Are you alright?
[ She turns her head abruptly towards the source of the voice and as soon as she sees him - this person, bless him! - Gracia exclaims an excited "Ah!" before grabbing his hand and running! ]
[ She ducks her head as she pulls him along hurriedly, another loud crash from a building emanating close to their position. Still, it doesn't deter her from getting to the caverns! Gracia only glances back at his question as they run. ]
The squid monster that's attacking the city! The giant doors in the caverns!
[ She's...not making that much coherent sense, sorry about that. Adrenaline rush and all. ]
[ She quickly turns to the right upon reaching the nearest corner, running faster than ever. That giant squid didn't sound like it was going to get tired of flailing its tentacles around the city so soon. ]
[ Despite her lack of breath, she manages to reply somewhat clearly to the man's question. ]
Down below, in the caverns, you'll find a dark maze! But at the end of it, me and my friend found a lake and a giant door that won't open! [ She exhales heavily, as they neared an intersection going towards the plaza. ] My instinct is telling me to go there right now! Maybe with this attack, they've opened!
[ Eventually, they reach the entrance to the cavern. As per usual, the darkness was almost suffocating. But Gracia was more than used to it - as if on cue, she raised a fist up into the air and suddenly, it was enveloped in a bright light.
Gracia turns to the man as she heaved, trying to catch her breath. ]
I'm sorry for dragging you so suddenly. Who are you, by the way? I'm Gracia.
/sorry for the lateness ;; finals week, herpderp.kagayakashiOctober 16 2011, 13:31:05 UTC
[ She turns back to the darkness, ignoring the roaring of the Kraken and the destruction it brought with it. ]
Jacob...[ The girl nods and remembers his name. As for the doors, she inhales heavily and prepares to take her first steps inside. ]
They're large and very pretty. But no matter what I did, they wouldn't open. Then now that there's destruction happening in our city, we have to go check on the doors again!
[ And off she goes - she cranes her neck to look at Jacob, before making anymore progress. ] Please stay close to me. Getting lost in her is frightening!

[ She nods and offers him her hand. ]
There has to be something! Why are they even there in the first place if they weren't important?
[ Gracia raises her fist higher into the air and lights the way; the darkness is still suffocating, so the light only penetrates a quarter of their path, but it's enough to get by. ]

[He looks intrigued, though, and runs after her, curious as to what she is talking about.]

[He also pauses to take a breath- he doesn't run that much. He nods, chasing after her as she takes him to their location.]
I'm sure something must be important about them...

Not a problem, Gracia. I'm Jacob. I've been here for a little while, but I haven't heard of any doors...

[Interesting. He nods slightly at that, taking the information in and mulling over it. Glowing doors...and doors always led somewhere, didn't they?]
Of course I will. I'm right behind you.

I completely agree. They must have a purpose. Things do not exist simply for the sake for existing. The same goes for people.
