[When he got the text early this morning, he could not help but feel a little bit of excitement. Not, mind you, that he figured working in a kitchen was going to be a constant barrel of excitement, but it was better than just sitting around. And Lea was a friend. He was happy to help him out.

So, with that in mind, he set off bright and early towards the new restaurant, raising his hand when he spies Lea in the door opening of the new restaurant.]

[Pardon the excitement, Jim. This is kind of a Big Thing. Grinning wide, he bounds over and slings his arm around Jim's shoulders.]

He stiffens when Lea throws an arm around his shoulder. Personal bubble, man.]

[Any other day, and Lea would hang on just to be a pest. But for today? Well, today he unlatches himself from Jim's shoulders and hops back a few steps.]

I feel like someone replaced all the blood in my body with pure caffeine. Ha ha, oh man, my heart hasn't stopped slamming against my ribcage ever since I woke up!

[About an hour or so after the texts went out, Demyx makes his way to the restaurant in a rather simple outfit and his hair actually combed back. No hair hanging in his eyes today! When he spots Lea? His eyebrows arch up and a grin creeps onto his face right before he sends a whistle in his direction.][And the corny pickup lines are quick to follow.]

[Lea whirls around on his heel when he hears that whistle, and the grin on his face threatens to light up the entire ocean. He looks like he's about to dart over and just sweep Demyx off of his feet. A step is even taken. But then he comes to a halt, takes a deep breath, and tries to show some restraint.]

[That's okay, he'll just close the distance and lean up a bit to wrap his arms around Lea's neck, planting a small kiss on the corner of his mouth. While at one point he may have looked like a shorter version of Axel, seeing him like this? It really makes him realize that he's so much different than the other Nobody in so many ways.]

Look who is talking. I might end up calling a fire department if you keep getting hotter.

[Nevermind the playful grin when he reaches up to tap Lea's nose with the tip of his finger, shifting the natural moisture in the air to give the effect of steam.]

[There's that playful shine to his eyes as he tilts his head back just a bit and slowly draws his lips over the tip of that finger.]

[ Well, this was something awesome to greet him this morning. Job opp, huh? And the restaurant. Give him an hour to get ready and swing by, scarf and all. Enthusiasm right in the system. All ya ever needed.

[Lea is already setting up some of the tables, each with his 'trademark' dish- an edible nest and eggs. Chocolate and pastries make the world go round, man.]

[Days later and no sign of Ventus after lots of wallowing in his own guilt for turning back into a puppet for someone else's dirty work.

Then comes Lea's text out of the blue. So he stumbles back to the apartment Ventus had invited him into and right up to the open door to Zack's room. No explanations, no apologies, no 'hi how are you doing we haven't really talked much,' just Kouki at his side and his voice barely above a whisper.]

There's a restaurant opening. You can come if you want.

[And he starts to leave.]

[Uh oh. Cookies and chocolate. Lemres wasn't here now, was he? Sig took a quick glance around, but he didn't see that familiar wizard hat around anywhere.

[Meh, he'd eat it anyway. Maybe he could get more if he followed this odd bird around... Or he could help pass out the chocolate. Either was fine with him.

It wasn't like he had anything better to do. Aside from thanking birds, anyway.]

[The large bird just gives that gentle coo in response before she leisurely begins to stride off. Fortunately, this is Myde. Not only is she one of the best behaved, but also the most friendly with strangers.

When she notices her new follower, she slows down and tilts he rhead down at him.]

[He walked closer and peeked into the saddlebag. Not to take anything, but just to see how much was in there. He...probably should have been more surprised about talking to a huge bird, but that just wasn't how he rolled.]

[Another soft coo. Myde seems rather unconcerned as her saddle is fiddled with. Inside, it's practically fit to burst with treats to be passed out. How Myde manages to get them out without spilling them everywhere is a mystery.]

[She doesn't seem to understand. Does he want more? Reaching her long neck back, she carefully takes out another small bag of goodies and holds it out to him.]
