[After a while, Kanaya had grown accustomed to people suddenly appearing in the plaza. It was rare to actually see it, since the area was pretty large and the chances of looking right there weren't very good, but it happened sometimes.

This time she didn't see the appearance. Being splashed by the shouting troll's leap was just as good for being aware of the new arrival.

Kanaya abruptly rises from the edge of the fountain she'd been sitting on, looking over to see what had just happened.

Evidently Nepeta had just jumped out of the fountain. This was mostly confusing because she thought Nepeta had been among those who disappeared recently.]

[Nepeta frowns, and then suddenly seems to understand.]

--Ohhh! I must have jumped through the next gate! [brightly, she re-sheaths her claws, glancing up at the sea-sky.] Woowwwww, is this your world? It's so purretty! But it doesn't make any sense, either.

[Being addressed by her Trollian handle's initials instead of her name is temporarily confusing. And then she remembers that people are taken from different points of time and she shakes her head.]

[The sound startles Lily, and she jumps back before running to investigate. Another female troll! How exciting. She summons a towel from her house and applies a warming charm, all in the time it takes to clear the space between them. She approaches carefully, wand drawn, just in case.]
