[Minato has been walking the other way. He's not exactly in any sort of hurry, and so his posture is as laid-back as ever, hands in his pockets, headphones on and music playing.

He doesn't pay the bump any mind, looking to reassure the culprit by taking off his headphones and turning to them--

And he blinks.

...Yukari?

H-hey!

[Well. That didn't take very long--

She wasn't expecting to run into him so soon, but she's glad for it. She gives a bit of a smile, and lets out a relieved sigh as she looks over him.

She lowers Aniki's note to her side then, glad that Minato doesn't seem to be sick anymore.]

You're looking a lot better.

[...haha that was so long ago. He nods, quietly amused.]

Yes, I haven't been sick for awhile now. It's good to see you awake.

...Yeah. I-I don't really know what happened.

[She puts a hand to her head, which still feels kind of heavy--and sighs.]

But I found this next to my bed this morning. I guess Aniki fell asleep, too?

[She shows Minato the note, reading it over yet again very quickly before passing it.]

[...he glances over the note, inwardly a little touched and amused both.

Asking Yukari to look after him, really, Aniki.]

Yes. He's still asleep, as well.

It's been a few weeks now for you both.

[And he offers the note back, nodding quietly.]

That shouldn't even be possible.

[So she'll take back the note with a frown.

And she scratches her head, wondering where she should even begin with all this. She thinks back...the last time she saw him.

Wh-what about the others? Is...everyone okay?

I know I said I would...

He drops his gaze then, expression a tad bit sad. He can't even reassure Yukari, because...]

Aigis, Koromaru and Akihiko-senpai have all gone home.

[Her expression hardens, and for a moment, it's difficult to breathe. Her heart sinks, and she can almost hear it beating--

Actually, for a moment, that's all she can hear.]

All...all three of them?

[His tone is steady, if quiet, when he responds. He's already come to terms with it, of course...it's unfortunate, but how can he resent his friends returning home?

Even if he might never see them again.]

Yes. Aigis disappeared first. Koromaru and senpai left just a little while ago.

I'm sorry, Yukari. It's not the best news to wake up to.

[She bites her lip for a moment. Not really sure what to say to all this. The reason...

The reason she was so willing to stay here was because--well, him, yes, but also the rest of her family. And though they would always be family, no matter where they are, no matter how far they are apart--

She would still miss them.]

We all knew there was a possibility this could happen.

How can Minato say that it's not a possibility to him? It's a certainty. Everyone leaves the city someday. That is a fact they know to be true.

Someday Yukari will leave too. Someday he will leave, and he will return to being dead.

He is optimistic, yes, but not the point of obscuring reality. He knows that this will not last forever. He has accepted that.

So he simply nods quietly.]

Yes...we did. Perhaps someday they'll return and we'll see them again.

[...She knows.

She knows all of that, but it's so much easier to think in possibilities. Because you never know. You never know what could happen--

What the future holds.

She doesn't think about it much, but when she does, she clings to it. She clings to possibility...]

...I hope so.

[Even if it is selfish of her. She wants to see them again--

She hates leaving things unfinished...like she did with Aigis.]

[...Mm, but this is not what he wants Yukari's first hour awake to be like, and so he nods.]

But there's nothing we can do about it right now. How are you feeling? You were asleep for a long time.

...Yeah. Y-you're right.

[She's got to shake it off. She needs to find out what's been happening in the city, after all, and though this was certainly important, she's certain more has happened in the past few weeks.

But where to even begin?

Well. The fish monsters were taken care of and Alpha appeared to ask us to construct an elevator up to the surface. We're not entirely sure what is happening there.
