Sephiroth had noticed Silver's absence, though he still went briefly to the usual meeting place each morning and waited for a reasonable length of time before he decided the redhead would again be a no-show. He'd heard about the fracas involving the hat, but considering the fact it had apparently been a curse, he was taking what he'd heard with a grain of salt one might say.

When he actually found Silver by the lake, he hadn't actually been looking for the boy; but after a moment he decided not to let the opportunity to speak with him pass by. Thus he walked over toward the redhead and stood quietly looking down at him.

"Hello, Silver."

Well. Shit. That was the first thing that ran through Silver's mind when he saw the General - a mentor - no, no. Not a mentor - though he knew, deep down, that he saw the older man as such. Though he quickly swallowed that feeling, there was no reason to suspect that the man would know what he'd gotten up to during the curse - that he's stolen several things. None at all... Right? Well. he could hope, seeing as just about everyone was crazy when curses hit.

"Hi." As much as he tried not to sound subdued, he was; after dealing with one to many busy-bodies the last few hours... He honestly was expecting at least a lecture of some sort by now.

"Care to tell me what's happened? You've been missing your lessons." The words were quiet, non-accusative...and yet perhaps that lack of accusation, the understanding tone the words were in could in a sense be to Silver actually worse than if the man had actually begun to lecture him about his thieving ways.

He may have not personally seen what Silver had done, he'd been busy dealing with Zack and the move and a sleeping Genesis, whom refused to wake up. But he'd heard about it from listening to others afterward, he kept his peace for now however. Besides, it looked as if the boy was beating himself up over what happened enough without having someone else berate him over it.

"Stupid shit." It's said as he looks away, swallowing a bit. Yea, he's beating himself up, but not as he feels guilt for what he did - he'd have stolen a few things eventually.

The guilt was that he'd enjoyed being a Rocket. Though it was more like loathing than guilt. There was nothing powerful about a bunch of cowards, and the powerful figures he remembered from his childhood were lies. Fairytales. The guilt was the vague feeling of having let down a few people.

Which was ridiculous. "Really stupid shit."

"Then why are you letting it eat at you like this? You realize it was wrong and stupid, now move on and leave it in the past. You can't change what you did, or how you felt while doing it...don't dwell on it so much." Sephiroth stated, arms coming to rest easily across his chest as he continued to watch the redhead below him.

"Hmph, it's not as simple as that, Sephiroth." Yes, it was, but since when did Silver ever do anything the easy way? "Part of it involves my past, and the idiot who still has two of my pokemon."

A past that he's not even mentioned once to the General, though if he stalks to the network, there are clues around it.

"It'll be as simple or hard as you allow it to be, Silver. Will you let your past dictate your actions now? As for your...pokemon, have you asked for this person to return them to you in a civil manner?" Yes, he's not letting you squirrel out of this that easily.

"Of course I did." Ignoring the first question completely, as it does dictate his actions a fair bit. Though it's also as he's fighting the changes that are happening, fighting against a lot of the advise that's been given to him. Because he still sees at incorrect, that the way he was raised is correct.

It's a long, rough road. "He said that 'I'm the only one with the responsibility to prove myself worthy, and when I do, I get the things back'. Whatever that means."

He might not says it, but.. Silver has the inkling that N means change his ways, which on the surface? Yea. He can fake it, but overall?

We're still working on that part.

"Then perhaps you should show him that you regret the actions you've done that caused him to take them away." Sephiroth noticed how the first question was avoided, but he says nothing of the matter since the question had been partially rhetorical in nature.
