[After being informed that the doctor had decided on today to go check out the cavern, Sephiroth had decided to arrive there in full uniform since he didn't know just what might be down there, but the shoulder armor and the materia currently nested in both armlets he had put back on should give him magical backup if it was needed, both offensively and support wise.

Upon arrival, he nodded a greeting to the pale-haired man and turned his attention to the hole which was the entrance of the cavern Muraki wanted to explore.]

I'm ready to proceed when you are, doctor.

[ Right on time. Of course, such was expected of the general. ]

Thank you. You see, your abilities left a rather positive impression on me and there is just no one else more fitting to help me with this little... side job.

[ One last double check of his things before taking said flashlight in hand and flipping it on. ]

I'm certainly ready. Shall we begin then?

[Muraki gets a silent nod in response to that question and the general drops down into the cavern below, landing easily enough and after a moment of allowing his eyes to adjust to the lack of light, he looks around him as best he can with what little light that comes from above from the entrance as he waits for Muraki to join him inside.]

[ He follows soon enough, shining the flashlight ahead of them a-ways to give them both a easier time. Of course, he knows better to stray and stays near Sephiroth. His senses were on edge, there being life within the caverns and through the darkness.

Already, his mind primed the most basic of shielding spells but perhaps it would be better to save it til it was completely necessary. ]

It would perhaps be best to head in as deep as we can... unless this cavern proves to be far more dangerous than I anticipated.

[Sephiroth gave a small nod followed by a quiet verbal agreement as he slowly moved ahead deeper into the cavern. As a precaution, he draws Masamune before heading out of the main cavern just in case there is something lurking in the tunnels. It'll be better to have it in hand than to be forced to try drawing it quickly in what might end up being a more confined area.]

Just tell me when you want to quit, I have nothing planned for the rest of the night.

Of course. But I'm certain I can quite handle myself.

[ A slight frown as he continues onward. The sounds are slightly unnerving, he must admit but nothing he can't handle. Seen worse and all that. ]

However, I must admit that if we chance upon any of those denizens here, I feel the need to take a sample.

For medical purposes, of course.

[He won't touch that comment, it reminds him just a little too much of Hojo. Instead he continues on through the tunnels until he finally comes up to the edge of the lake. It didn't really surprise him really, he'd smelt and heard the water before actually coming upon it.

Looking, he couldn't see any way across which didn't involve actually getting into the water.]

I imagine if we want to go further we'll have to wade across this.

[And putting action to his words, he stepped off into the water. Though he'd only gone one pace into it when two things were brought to his attention. One was the apparent chill of the water and the second was there was something in the water that obviously didn't appreciate invaders.

Backtracking to get back onto dry ground, he used his sword to impale the fish attached to his lower arm and then the one attached to his thigh. Actually detaching them hurt almost worse than their initial bite, but he got them off and then ignoring the bloodshed from both injuries offered the creatures toward the doctor.]I

[ He nodded in agreement, following after the general as he pressed on. But the sound alerted him, even more when Sephiroth drew his blade out.

No denying the man's skill with the blade was remarkable. The doctor didn't even have time to charge up a proper shield before it was all over. Admittedly, it brought him back to watching Oriya at work with his kata in the early mornings.

There was a moment's pause though after it was all over. ]

I'd suggest against advancing any further until we've managed to deal with those injuries.

[ Further glance at the water and said specimens. ]

Or as long as these creatures remain protective of the water.

[He's dislodging said specimens off the sword now, and knocking their blood off of it before sheathing the katana. Looking at his bloody right arm, he wipes his gloved left hand across the gash in the leather where he'd been bitten to remove most of the blood and show the injury already well on its way to being half healed already.]

My body will deal with the injuries... but I don't believe we'll be able to cross that water regardless. If the creatures didn't get us first, the chill of the waters would.

[ He was just about taking some tissue and blood samples from the fish when...

Oh. Oh, well that was new. That was certainly new. Self healing? Really, General. ]

Perhaps we should turn back for now.

[ But he's still eyeing that wound. It should have been much deeper than expected, certainly needing some bandaging and taking at least a day to heal... Mind racing. No, calm down. Calm down.

Should go about this the logical way. The last time he tried, well... ]

But... how is it that your body can manage to deal with those injuries? Surely, this manner of self restoration...

[Inasmuch as he'd like to wash the blood off him, he doesn't think sticking any part of his body back into the water now that he's likely roused the creatures in the lake to his presence would be exactly wise, so he'll just deal with it for the time being.]

It would seem to be the wisest choice.

[He dropped his arm down, and used the already bloodied hand to wipe away the blood from the leg wound, it was healing as well which was reassuring. Likely by the time they reached the exit, both injuries would be healed completely.]

[Before he'd spoken with his mother, he might have said something about it likely being due to being SOLDIER, but even if that's still partially true, it's too much of a coincidence that he, Genesis and Angeal all held such similar a healing ability and were all part of apparently a project involving the ancient remains of a cetra. So, sorry doctor, that's currently you're going to get out of him.]

[ He wants to pry further but there were moments where his curiosity got the better of him. After all, Tsuzuki wasn't exactly the most willing of test subjects. But to think, someone who had the same ability here in the city who wasn't dead.

If only Vatheon would give him his brother head tank for Christmas. ]

It's best we do turn back for now. I have my samples and a deeper knowledge of this place which hopefully will shine a little more light onto this city.
