It was a lovely afternoon for a soak red head to be having a chat with a shop keeper. The woman had been kind enough to give her a towel and tell her about the coral deity that brought her to Vatheon. That was about ( Read more... )

[A ghost hovers to the left.]

If you make a breakthrough with yours, do let me know.

[She was friendly so the same will be given, but it was still unsettling to see a ghost.

She gave a smile as she looked from her then back to the fairy.]

I don't think she'll let me touch her either. She is pretty fast. [A pause. She hadn't seen the shopkeeper with one.]

Are they only for guests?

[She's trying to be as un-scary as possible, really! D:]

Yes, in the end they don't make very good companions. Mine is a small comfort during the night hours, though.

[She nods at this.] Only those from different worlds will have them here.

[Kairi appreciates it. Really. She just hasn't come across...transparent people during her adventures.]

How long have you been here as a visitor?

Most here would use the word "prisoner" over "visitor," but I believe it's been a little more than three months, now. I take it you've just arrived?

It seems more pleasant than a prison though.

[She tucked a bit of her hair behind her ear before nodding.]

I did. Though I can't really remember how I got here.

Pleasant, certainly! But without the ability to leave of one's own accord, the pleasantries fall short of being "enough" for the foreigners here. Vatheon is not as kind to some as it is to others.

Mmm, that's normal. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

[She pointed to the sky.]

Is that really the sea? I think I can see fish. Oh! Sorry if I'm taking up your time.

Not at all! [she giggles, shaking her head] I've a great deal of free time, as of late.

And yes, this entire city is positioned under the sea; the barrier is what keeps the water out. They're currently working on an... "elevator" [she mispronounces the word, unused to it] that will take us to the surface, though.

...so this elevator is going to travel through the sea? I bet the view would be wonderful. [She was trying to keep a positive view on...this whole thing.] Has anyone been to the surface before?

I've not been here long myself, so I don't know. Vatheon's citizens do know of the sun, however, so I assume they've been to the surface at some point.
