[Awww, that's sweet, she wants him to go swimming with her! And she's actually not being pushy or aggressive about it, which is also very nice.]

[Equius decides to go and join her, changing into his black suit with blue piping and gathering up Darkleer and Dualscar. Lea told him they needed more exercise, and they were blue chocobos so they'd like to go swimming, right? Right. He considers bringing Pounce, but decides (correctly) that she'd probably enjoy the peace and quiet of a boy-chocobo-free hive more and leaves her behind.]

[When he gets to the lake, he doesn't spot Feferi immediately, but that's okay, he can wait if he got here before her. He toes off his shoes and wades bravely into the water, getting knee-deep before stopping and waiting.]

[Darkleer and Dualscar have no such inhibitions. With gleeful WARKS! they dive headfirst into the water and start paddling around, splashing each other and making a tremendous racket.]

OH MY COD.

[Seeing the chocobos very giddily go into the water has her in a tizzy and she's already heading towards the shore, getting to a point where she can stand, her hands going up near her mouth as she FREAKS out from the adorable before her.]

OH MY COD! THEY ARE SO CUTE! OH MY.

[Trying to get as near as possible without freaking them out, but she sends a rather hyper wave Equius's way, with a soft high pitched squeal, her eyes darting to the chocobos again, BECAUSE DEAR GOT THEY ARE BEING SO CUTE. LOOK AT THEM SWIMMING AROUND.]

[Thanks to bathtime tidal waves (don't ask), Equius is getting more used to being splashed, and while the wave soaks him to the chest, he doesn't really mind. Instead, he half-smiles at Feferi and waves at her.]

Hi, Feferi.

[Oh no, the chocobos have spotted her now. Dualscar, a little bit more shy around new people, hangs back a bit, but Darkleer immediately paddles over, warking and kwehing and otherwise chattering up a storm. He remembers you, Feferi! Even if you were an angel the last time you met!]

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS, you are sooo precious!

[She grins, moving over to him and picking him up to hug him, if he allows of course! Gosh, she loves seeing animals enjoy the water!]

How have you been? I didn't know you were going to bring the whole school swimming along with you! Heeher!

[Guess who else thought the pond was a good place to go? Though the activity wasn't anywhere near as similar as the location; he wanted to try and clear his head. It was hard since Karkat came back and they had talked about certain quadrant matters. He was still hurt and very much unsure of what to even really think of the matter. Was it right for him to be so hurt by this when his feelings actually run ruddier than he wants to admit?]

[Whatever, the thoughts were giving him a headache and that was the last thing he needed after just getting rid of the last one. It isn't the sight of the two that draws his attention out of his thoughts--it's the familiar sound of Chocobos and then that voice. He looks up, not far from them, and his stomach tightens. It'd be one thing if this was simply Fef, but he's Equius too. Goddamnit, he did not want to deal with this muscle headed idiot no matter how much of a service he had been in the previous week taking care of his bird

[Don't mind the glare Equius is giving you, Eridan. He still hates you, you see, even if Darkleer and Dualscar are best bros forever. It won't change his feelings for you.]

[In fact, this is one of the first times he's seen the sea-dweller in person since they stopped living together, and he's looking... rough. He's not nearly as well put-together as Equius remembers, and he'd be lying if he said he didn't feel a little thrill of schaudenfreude run up his spine.]

Good. Get rid of that vile, ill-mannered creature.

[Dualscar, for his part, has recognized Eridan and is frantically swimming towards the shore and his daddy, warking excitedly.]

HEY ERIDAN! [All excitement on her part. She hasn't seen him in AGES! He looks a little tuckered out to be honest... but that's not really her problem, now is it! Plus if she pointed it out she's preeetty sure Equius might use it to take jabs at Eridan as well and she really doesn't want to help that behavior...]

Swimmingly? Heehee, you could say so! Since well, we're here to swim, duh! [A giggle and an eyeroll on her part, slowly getting closer to shore, Darkleer in her arms as she glances to Eridan and Equius slowly, snapping her gaze to Equius at his remark about Dualscar.]

Wow Equius, don't be such a douchefin, sheesh! That's not very nice at all, have a little more respect for the little chocobo! [Sternly speaking with a huff at the end of her words. Honestly, why was everyone so pissy all the time?]

[It was nice to hear his name spoken with such endearment, the excited tone was expect from Feferi, but after the wek or so he's had? It was definitely comforting. He does his best to offer her a half-assed smile. If it isn't obvious, he's ignoring Equius because he really is in no mood for that repulsive sweatbeast.]

Yeah, that much is obwious. I'm surprised you could teach the muscle bound idiot to swim, I didn't realize you could teach those without half a pan new tricks. [Oh oops, him ignoring Equius? Yeah nevermind. Though when Dualscar excitedly makes his way to his daddy, Eridan halts the chocobo with a hand gesture, the overtly happy chocobo complying. He shakes off the water from his feathers, then making a grand effort to scale the troll. All of which gets an aggravated eye roll from Eridan

[Equius rolls his eyes at Feferi's chastizing, but manages to hold his tongue... until the next time Eridan opens his mouth. Hey, for all of five seconds, they tolerated each other's company! It must be a new record.]

I probably swim better than you already.

[It is kind of impressive how he gets Dualscar to shake the water off himself, though. Darkleer would never do anything like that. Then again, Darkleer tried to beat up the alpha chocobo at the ranch, so there's consolation in that.]

Equius is fine aa swimming! And I'm sure Eridan is too!

[She pauses, pursing her lips as he cradles the chocobo close, her eyes looking to the ground for a moment.]

Well, I don't really KNOW if Eridan can... To be honest I've seen Equius swim more then him! Heehee. You should REALLY consider getting some swimming time in Eridan! Sea dweller pride and all that glubbing nonsense, glub.

[Granted, she doesn't really CARE about that 'pride', it's more of an issue of her wanting more swimming partners, not that Equius isn't a good one! The more the merrier, or should I say mariner. Dohohoho...

Ho.]

[Anyway.]

[Feferi leans over to put the chocobo down, a small sigh leaving her as she goes a little deeper, sitting down so the water is up just below her chest and under arms, her eyes looking over to the both of them again with a slightly annoyed expression.]

I'd love to spend time with you too Eridan, but since, well, you both kind of act like complete wrigglers around eachother, we should make plans for another time! Okay?

[That snide remark gets a glare, enjoy it Equius, you earned it. But when Feferi stands up for Equius--and then him, that smooths any feather (Or should I said fin?) ruffling that had been done--till of course Fef adds on more. Have an exasperated sigh at that, Fef. Man you guys are on a role!]

[He places his hands on his hips, trying to look completely unbothered by either of them, opening his mouth to reply and there you go Fef, saying something else that has him stopping. He scoffs at that.]

Well, if he was a bit more... Tolerable, I wouldn't be so tempted to put him in his place all the time, but if he agrees to not be a fuckin' douche, I'll be ciwil myself...

[Okay his tough guy, holier than thou, nothing can touch me facade is kinda crumbling.]

... Because I actually would rather spend some time with you, if that's okay.

[Snort and head toss!]

Like you've ever put me in my place.

[But that's the only snarky comment he offers, because he's noticed how Darkleer has paddled to the shore and is dancing around Eridan's feet, trying to entice Dualscar to come down and play with him some more. His cranky expression softens a little, watching the chick... but then it turns into a glare when he looks back at Eridan. Like hell he's leaving Feferi alone with him! But he doesn't exactly want to be in his presence any longer than he has to either...]

[Decisions, decisions. What do?]

[Finally, with another snort, he stomps off into deeper water, lays down, and starts floating. At least with the water over his ears Eridan's voice will be muffled, but he'll still be close enough to protect Feferi, if need be.]

Well you know you can always call me up whenever to talk and makes plans, Eridan? Sheesh, you act like I'm hard to get ahold off! You don't even need bait when you put a hook out, hehehe. [She shakes her head, watching the two of them as well as the two chocobos and soon watches as Equius stomps out into the water further, a small giggle leaving when he starts to float idly.]

No one needs to put anyone in any place, cod damnit you gills. [Another roll of her eyes and she moves over to Equius now, still for the most part sitting, maybe more on her knees now, and playfully pushing him in the water a little, making a soft 'glub' noise with each little push.]

This doesn't need to be a competition of 'who can tolerate who the longest', if you're gonna stay Eridan, then stay, and swim, because that's what we're doing, or you know what? Just sit down somewhere and relax FOR ONCE!

[Pushes Equius softly again before looking at him.]And you mister

[Other than a snarl Equius' way, he doesn't pay him much mind. When the other chocobo tries to entice Dualscar from his perch, the chocobo in question warks happily at him before leaping down and tackling him. Eridan offers a grimace to the two chicks who are rough housing not far from him, but not doing much to stop their fun. His attention being snared by Feferi who speaks up, looking to her as he listens, but soon finding his gaze drifting away.]

[He knows she isn't hard to get a hold of, but for a good while he didn't exactly want to talk to anyone but his moirail, not with what happened with Stein. He had basically locked himself up in their hive, so really it WAS his fault him and Fef hadn't talked. He doesn't offer much of a response to that than a simple nod. He knows this wasn't Feferi's fault, but all his own.]

Look, it's my fault, I'we had a lot of problems recently and I didn't exactly want to be a goddamn burden to you alright. [He comes closer to the edge, there was no way he was going to swim, he wasn't about to

[While Equius is happy to listen to and talk to Feferi, he gives approximately zero fiddlesticks about Eridan and his problems. Less than zero. Negative amounts of fiddlesticks.]

[The chicks have managed to rough-house their way into the water again, and now they're trying to play King of the Mountain on his chest, complete with extra loud warking and divebombing into the water. With a sigh and an eyeroll, Equius does one or two STRONG swimming strokes, trying to get away from the little blue demons.]

Hmm, do whatever you need to do, Eridan, I'm not going to stop you and I won't swim up into your business if you don't want me there! I have my own things to tend to anywhwales, heehee. [She idly watches the chicks play, glsncing over to Equius as he floats away from the lot of them, holding a rather annoyed expression on his face. Feferi does change her expression when she hears that bit about 'Kar', looking back to Eridan with a worried frown.]

Karcrab? Hmm... [She leans back, palms down behind her in the water and just stares downward near Eridan's feet before looking back to him again.]

[Moirail problems, really? Who'd a thunk it...]

Well I'll worry, I pretty much always worry about you, but I won't bring it up if you don't want to talk about it. It's not REEEEAALLY my place to say anything about that! It would be nice for you to be more available though! Most of my time is spent with Equius.

[Smirks, glancing over to the blue blood.]
