Luckily for this woman, the door she happened to be knocking on was that of Orihara Izaya. Not only did he like Faye personally, but he didn't sleep all too often as is. Currently, he was situated at his desk with a fresh cup of tea. He had sent Kaori to bed at least an hour ago and had just begun to finish up work he had promised would take minutes. Please. Like an informant's work was ever done.

He had heard the woman's bitching and yelling for a while now but mostly ignored it. Until, of course, she was knocking at his door and it was only then that the voice registered. Setting down his cup of tea, he left his desk. Unlike Faye, his pajamas were a bit more modest. A gray hoodie and a pair of black shorts that just went a little above his knees. And some ankle-socks. He padded across the floor, looking over his shoulder to see if Kaori had awoken but of course- the dark apartment remained silent.

Opening the door, he smiled broadly. "My, Faye, I didn't realize that Larmlines was also known for its twenty-four hour culinary services!" he exclaimed, actually pretty overzealous to see the woman. And no, Izaya did not take notice of her outfit. Their relationship was pretty established after all.

"Come on in. I was just finishing something. Ahh..I think I have some dumblings from dinner if you're interested? They're beef. Very delicious," he said, stepping aside to let the woman in.

"Izaya. My hero." The words were spoken deadpan, without the kind of emotion that someone would normally put with them, even if they were only joking. Maybe Faye wasn't joking. Dumplings? She felt like she had been rescued.

Faye strode comfortably into the flat - likely Izaya looked very cute indeed, but he could have been naked and her reaction would have been entirely the same. "Did you make the dumplings?" Given that Larmline apartments were all similar, if not the same, Faye walked herself into his kitchen and began a hunt for them, peering into the fridge.

Really, it was good for her to know that there was someone who was around at that time of the morning - and, more to the point, that Izaya was never far away from her. It was comforting, but be damned if she would ever suggest such a thing.

Let's just face it, these two would forever and always be the cutest citizens of Vatheon. The one thing he did notice was that the yellow with her hair looked pretty stylish. He made a mental note to compliment her about that later. But for now? He was busy following her into his kitchen. He didn't mind the nosy behavior. As a matter of fact, it was pretty nice to not have to play super-formal-house guest for once.

Not that everyone would really consider drugging tea or shoving people into suitcases as a good house guest but those were details.

"My secretary did. He's a very skilled cook," he explained, "You'll die. They're really good. Did you want to heat them up?" he asked, but he was already setting down his tea and instead getting out a plate for Faye to heat the dumplings on. "Top shelf to the right on a red plate."

Actually, the distraction was a welcome. He had to clear his mind. Even the genius that was Orihara Izaya had to let his mind sizzle out after a lot of stress of working.

"So what's up? It's not usual I get to see half-naked women running around and asking for food," he stated. Unlike any other man might've though, he wasn't really preying on her when he said that. "What've you been up to? It's been a while too."

Faye paused in her rummaging of his fridge to stand straight, turning to look at Izaya with quite the incredible expression, "Izaya has a secretary?" She laughed, but only because she hadn't imagined Izaya as strictly the business type. Mafia, maybe. But a secretary, "A secretary that cooks, huh? I gotta get me one of those..."

Faye was keen for these dumplings, and she took him as directed and fumbled about a bit for some chopsticks. Tilting her head back to her host, she gave a soft smile, "Wanna heat them up for me?"

Half-naked? Faye shook her head, almost like she was disappointed with his comment. "I could be a lot more half-naked if I wanted to be..." But her amused smile faded slightly and she adjusted a strap on her shoulder, "I slept for a while... then those fish things came."

"Well, I don't know if I'd call him my secretary exactly," he said, rolling his eyes at himself. "He's more of a..servant. Either way, he does the house work and organize things when I tell him to. Oh and he gives me massages. It's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me," he said, perfectly happy about boasting his personal help. He was so much more efficient than Namie had ever been.

"Sure thing," he said, grinning as he took the dumplings from her. He covered them over with a napkin so the moisture would be kept in and popped them into the microwave. They'd taste just fine.

"Sure you could but I'm used to prudes in Vatheon so," he said, shrugging, "I think it's your natural endowments that make you appear more under-dressed than you actually are. Which isn't a bad thing, by the way. You're a lovely woman," he said. Faye was one woman he was perfectly comfortable with when it came to light flirting. She wasn't an idiot. She knew he meant nothing by it- or at least he figured as much. Besides, there was nothing wrong with informing someone of how attractive they were.

"Ah yes, those guys. They're really fun to play with if you ask me." He took the dumplings out after they finished heating and beckoned to Faye to follow him. He headed out into his main area and set them down on his small dining table. "I actually lured one out using this kid as bait. I was showing off somewhat but it was mostly for the sake of a good work out," he explained, stepping away from the table.

"Do you want anything to drink? I have tea, water, lemonade, and milk." The last one made him grimace. Who preferred to drink milk?

"Wait, wait, wait. How did you get this guy to do this stuff for you? Where's my servant?" Yeah, that was Faye - like the spoilt kid who's jealous of her friend's new toy. "I want one."

She leaned back casually on the counter and, at the word 'endowments', she glanced down at her breasts, giving something between a shrug and a grin. Well, she couldn't ignore that they were there. "Thanks, Izaya. Just a pity they're wasted on you."

Faye was more than happy to follow after Izaya, "Mmm! Those smell so good." She flopped herself down at the dining table, twirling the chopsticks she'd taken from his kitchen in her fingers. She waited for the drinks list to continue and paused, raising an eyebrow, "Milk the toughest thing you got? Just gimme some tea."

"I'm not really sure. He's a real sweet kid. Totally loyal. I think he'd cut his own hand off if I asked him nice enough." Izaya shrugged and left out the part about their slightly more intimate take on a relationship between secretary and boss. Details. "Find a kid who thinks you're attractive then. I'm sure it's not hard for a girl like you."

He snorted at her statement and flicked his wrist dismissively at Faye. "You'll put them to good use one day, I'm sure. Even if Vatheon is congested with prudes up to the brim."

"Toughest? Milk is tough?" He wrinkled his nose up at that. "I don't drink alcohol really. Maybe wine though.." He trailed off and left to fetch some tea. Once he was back at the table, he set the hot tea down in front of her and took a seat across from her. "I needed a break anyway," he said, stretching his arms above his head before curling his arms over the tabletop and propped his head into his arms.

"Where've you been?"

Oooh. Faye was really liking the sound of that kind of arrangement. Like having Jet do all the cooking, but doing everything else for her too. Interseting indeed. "Huh. I'd find one easy."

Faye leaned against the table, her head tilting ever so slightly at his comment. "No alcohol? How come?" Oh yes, there are notions of getting very drunk with Izaya going on in her head. Definitely.

She lifted the cup carefully, pouting her lips to lightly blow across the top. "You're too busy for your own good, kid." As for her? She raised a shoulder in a shrug as she took a small sip, "My apartment. Where's all the fun at?"

"I'm not really fond of the taste. Although I don't mind wine so much. Plus, it's horrible for you and it's a one sure way to lose control..." He hesitated, then added with a subtle grin to Faye, "And I think I've lost enough control of myself as is already in this city." Although really, if he were to ever get drunk with someone, it'd be Faye. She's the only one who really knows the one thing that no one else needs to know about him. So he didn't have anything to risk. Clearly.

That and he figured Faye would forget anything said anyway. Not many drunkards seem to recall details as far as he was concerned.

"Nah, I like it. Wait- kid? Hehe. How old are you, Faye?" he asked. Although he couldn't deny that he was very flattered to be called a kid. After all, he vowed to be twenty-one forever. "Fun? Tch. No where really. There were some fish monsters a few days ago which were fun to play with for a while but other than that..."

"There's nothing wrong with a couple of drinks here and there." But then, Faye didn't think that anything that gave pleasure was a bad thing. "You just have to learn to control yourself better. Keep yourself together." Faye picked at another dumpling and chewed on it slowly. Faye wasn't the type to forget anything too soon, but that was always a good way too keep people sweet.

Faye grinned at his question and leaned into the table, looking at him levelly, "How old do you think I am?" Dangerous question, and one she usually only asked if she was looking for an excuse to hit someone.

"I don't need to learn to control myself better. I like to think that I'm in perfect control of myself." Not to mention, he'd probably be quite the light weight if they did go drinking. Considering both his age, weight, and lack of experience with alcohol. Shiki had always reprimanded him for not picking up on drinking.

"Tch, like hell if I know. It's impossible to tell in Vatheon. I met a kid the other day who looked about ten but was actually a few hundreds or thousands years old. Then I met a man who looked about thirty and who was a few hundred years old...I'm assuming you're human but regardless. Plus, Kao-chan," he said, and pointed to where his servant was asleep in his bed behind walls, "Is sixteen but he probably looks more twenty at least. And I like to think of myself as young in appearance but I am twenty three. So, you? You could be sixteen..Or you could be twenty..Or you could just look really good for your age and be in your hundreds."

He shrugged and grinned broadly at her leveled gaze. He's not that afraid to get hit and trust me, it's not that easy to land a hit on him to begin with.

OMG Now I Have Thoughts of Izaya vs Faye! :3 myfayevalentine August 30 2011, 17:25:05 UTC
Faye watched him carefully, blowing gently across the top of a dumpling while she listened. So maybe her story wasn't quite so exciting or unique in Vatheon as it was on Earth, or even Mars. So she shrugged a shoulder and popped the beef into her mouth, "Twenty three."

She finished what was left of the dumplings and twirled the chopsticks between her fingers. "And really, you gotta stop flattering me." Like her ego wasn't big enough? Though she wasn't sure she really minded.

kfjkdfg Izaya would never hurt her just because of certain things though- BUT DRUNK IZAFAYE? Yes. thetrollprince August 30 2011, 17:29:44 UTC
"You're the same age as me!!" he exclaimed excitedly because apparently it was a huge deal. It wasn't, but it didn't stop him from clapping his hands together one solid time. "How interesting. We just keep having more and more in common, don't we?"

What else did they have in common? Eh- did it really matter to point that out now? Absolutely not. "Tch. Everyone could use with flattering. It really improves your relationship with people," he explained. He glanced at her dumplings then up at Faye, "Did you want anything else? I might have something sweet in the freezer but probably not. I'm not too fond of sweets and neither is Kao-chan."

"Same age as you and every other chump wandering round this place." She raised a brow at his enthusiasm; she didn't knock it, she just didn't know what it was about. "But yeah, I guess we do."

"Nothing sweet? So you don't drink, you don't like sweet things. Wow, you boys are living on the edge."

"I don't know about that. I feel like everyone's more of teenagers..Either teenagers or unbelievably aged," he said, recalling Rhode, Sebastian, Snowman, and even that demon kid. What was his name again? It started with a L...

"I like to keep a healthy life style. Besides, I can't help it that I have mature taste," Izaya said rather arrogantly. He had always been proud of his diet. Mostly because it was the exact opposite of Shizuo's and that amused him endlessly and gave him something else to make fun of Shizuo for.

"There are a lot of cute little kids running around. Y'know, little skirts and ribbons." She gave a shrug, like the idea of something sweet is quite alien to her, or at least incomprehensible.

"Mature taste?" Faye raised a brow at him before sitting back in her chair, legs stretching out across the floor. "I forget. Yer all high society with your secretary and stuff."
