Yeah, that has his complete attention. His face is serious for a moment but then he forces a smile.

He starts back towards where he saw the--...What the hell is he doing? But then surprisingly, Izaya sighs, empathetical, and wanders close but not too close.

This kid is freaking out though. Maybe he's hysterical. Izaya moves fast annnd- whipped out flickblade, stepped between boy and coral and brought blade up to catch the next swing from the sword.

Don't worry~! He's used this knife to fight off demon blades before. It's fine.]

I get it. You're a kid, but that doesn't mean you have to act irrationally. Since when do irrational animals survive, hn? That's exacccctly right, they don't~!

[ The knife cuts him off mid swing but he takes this as a sign to back off albeit with much reluctance. ]

[ But he plops right down, arms crossed over his chest and the sword by his side. ]

Yeah, the coral does some pretty stupid things. It stuck me here for months then sent me back and grabbed me again after two days!

[Man, why do all these brats get to be demons and other cool things like that? Tch. He really got ripped off. He flicks his blade shut and puts it away. He squats down in front of this ki- demon and puts his elbows on his knees.]

[He tilts his head when the sword is brought out. Not even a flinch.]

Nya, calm down. What's this? Are you asking me to fight or something?

[He flicks his blade back out and taps it harmlessly against the side of the demon's sword.]
