Dinner Party: Getting to Know You

[Lily has finally, finally figured out how to send messages on her SFC, and earlier today sent a short text message to James, Remus, Sirius, and Shin informing them that she would be making them all

[When it came time to go to dinner James put down his makeshift quill, he couldn't work the things he'd found as writing implements, and went into the kitchen. Quickly but carefully, he wrapped his arms around Lily's waist and whispered in her ear.]

Guess who?

[hexywitch]

[Lily jumps, surprised, but laughs and quickly relaxes back against him.]

James.

[She turns around in his embrace and pushes herself up on her tiptoes to kiss his nose.]

It looks like Remus isn't going to make it, but Sirius and Shin should be here soon, and the food is nearly ready!

[James pulled her in close and kissed her almost exactly like their first kiss, only he wasn't as clumsy as back then. Then he kissed her nose and sighed.]

There's enough pie that I don't need to speak, right?

[hexywitch]

[Lily laughs]

Well. Dinner is Shepherd's pie, and then for dessert we've got an apple pie and a cherry pie. Does that sound like enough pie to you, love?

No corned beef pie? [James pouts, but it soon turns into a laugh.] Thanks, love.

[hexywitch]

There's a bit of corned beef in the Shepherd's pie, actually. It should be good!

[She extricates herself from James' arms and goes back to the stove, waver her wand about to assemble the main course in a casserole dish, putting a last little charm on it to keep it warm until the guests arrive. Then, she turns back to James.]

All right. I'm ready. This is kind of like a double date, isn't it?

I'm sure it will be.

[He managed to grab another kiss before she left then nodded.]

Yeah...that's why I was hoping Remus would be here.

[hexywitch]

[She comes back over to him and wraps her arms around his waist]]

What are you worried about?

[selfless_stag]

Just Shin. I mean, he has to be a good guy because Sirius isn't that bad a judge of character but...he's a guy!

[hexywitch]

[Lily contemplates that for a moment.]

Well. I suppose that is a bit odd. I didn't see it coming. But...if he makes Sirius happy...

[She shrugs.]

Besides. It's not like they're going to snog in front of you. In fact, I'm sure that Sirius is far more worried that you and I will be snogging in front of him.

I know I know.

[This made James laugh.] At least that's normal!

[hexywitch]

[She rolls her eyes and kisses him again.] It's just two blokes, James. If you don't make a big deal out of it it's not going to be a big deal.

[selfless_stag]

But it's Sirius! And...it's just hard okay.

I'm really glad you're here.

[hexywitch]

You'll get used to it. And you can talk to me about it, if you don't feel comfortable talking to Sirius.

[She nuzzles her nose against his]

Me too.

[selfless_stag]

I love you so much. [He kissed her again, hard and deep.] I am so lucky you're here.

[hexywitch]

I love you too, James.

[They really get to making out, of course, forgetting, in the moment, that they have guests coming over]
