[ Remus paused, thinking. ]

[Lily is just sitting on the sofa, reading.]

[loudly] You could've just said that loudly and I would've heard it!

[She tucks a bookmark into the book and goes to join James in his bedroom.]

[James shrugged when Lily entered because he'd already read the message.]

I was also trying to work out how to make the locked messages work.

Yelling it would defeat the purpose of a locked message, I think.

[She sits down on the bed.]

When people live together, though, I don't think the locked message has much of a purpose. But I don't know how to make one either. These things are confusing.

[She fiddles with her SFC]

So, what do we need to discuss?

[First things first, James leant over and gave Lily a quick kiss before answering her question.]

Sirius' boyfriend, Shin, mainly. I don't know about either of you, but I've never met him. And I'd rather not share a house with someone I don't know.

What do you guys think?

I don't know, honestly.

But I...I trust Sirius' judgement, so...any friend of his is a friend of mine.

[She has a small smile on her face now, from the kiss]

Well, if the problem is that we don't know him, then we should get to know him. From what Sirius has told me, he seems like a decent bloke.

[She shrugs]

I mean...we've got plenty of room, and it would make Sirius happy, right?

Guess I'm getting out voted on this one then. [Purposefully not answering their questions.]

Lily's right, we ought to get to know him before we make any judgements.

[hexywitch]

I'm not outvoting you, James, I just don't want to say no outright. How would you feel, if Remus and Sirius called you together to discuss the fact that they didn't feel they knew me well enough to live with me.

[She smiles]

Of course, they do know me well enough. But just imagine.

That's different. Sirius isn't here.

And I would understand it anyway. I'm not saying we don't get to know him, I just don't want to live with him. Not to mention Moony's...

[He stopped. He was going to mention the fact that he doubted Shin would know of the lycanthropy but then he remembered that Lily didn't know either. He gave Remus before falling silent.]

--not that comfortable around new people, necessarily, but I'll be fine. Completely fine. No need to worry about me, James. [ this is a very pointed: What the hell, James? Look. Seriously, watch your mouth.]

[Lily frowns. There's something going on here.]

...well maybe we don't have to live with him right away, then.

[She studies James' face and then Remus', but doesn't want to push, because Remus is clearly uncomfortable]

We can hardly ask Sirius to move in with us without him. Can we? [James was glad of the change of subject.]

I'm assuming Shin and Sirius are a package deal at this point. They have been living together, after all.
