[A few hours after their names disappeared from the list, Matthew shows up.

He has a bag slung over his shoulder.

No he is not santa claus and he would not get the reference if you brought it up--

Anyway. He comes in through the window not the chimney and inspects the scene.]

...How is Motz doing?

[sweeperesque]

[.... She has to comment-]

You're doing it wrong.

[And at Matthew's appearance, the cat just meows.]

She's toughing it out.

I'm doing nothing wrong.

[It's a quick retort, before--]

...What could I possibly have done wrong?

[sweeperesque]

[... She can't help but grin a little.]

The boogie man is supposed to come out from under the bed.

[.....pfff. He shakes his head, coming over to sit on the couch, plopping the bag on the table.]

I don't know how I would manage that one without hiding there, and that would be weird. I'm not that bored.

[sweeperesque]

[Just an eyebrow raise and she ignores him otherwise. Motz gets placed on the floor so she can roll over on the couch. No Matthew, she's not really interested in company right now, even if it's yours.]

[He plants his arms on his knees and peers at her for a moment. And then--]

I brought movies.

I know it's not going to make it better, but neither is moping. So I thought...

[A shrug. He laughs, somewhat sheepishly, because this is outside of his domain of dealing with people.]

[... pffft. Ahh, is this how it works? She avoids feeling bad by just being amused at Matthew?

[He holds up a movie, tilting his head.]

[and you know what. it's her turn to be difficult today-]

I assume you throw them at difficult sweeper's heads. Make use of them, and all.

[Gosh he's no good at this. An uncomfortable shrug and he bows his head, hair falling into his eyes.]

I was worried. You don't have to smile if you're sad. Isn't that what you tell me?

... Yup. [She sighs and ends up smiling anyway, sitting up and tucking her knees in to give him more room.]

I'm not completely sad- it's hard to be when you're trying like this. But... [she shrugs] I'll miss them.

[He flops into his seat and shakes his head.]

Maybe it's a little weird for you. But I promise it's normal for everyone else to miss someone when they're gone.
