Jun 30, 2011 22:41

Characters: Feferi and Vatheon.
Location: Perched atop a building somewhere in the lower district.
Time: Late last night
Style: Any. I'll follow.
Status: Open.

[She hadn't really realized for the first day, and that was mostly due to her sleeping habits lately. Feferi's been letting herself sleep a lot more, only waking up for brief periods of ( Read more... )

[Ordinarily Kanaya would probably be taking a brief nap at this time of night, but right now her ability to sleep is all out of order. This might have something to do with being a human vampire. So now she's pacing around another part of the hive, and checking the SFC periodically to make sure no one reports finding any drained bodies.]

[So despite being in the same building, she sees the video before seeing Feferi in person. Who looks a bit human also---except, are those wings behind her?]

Feferi, you've been out flying? That sounds like it must have been fun.

[No wings as of yet, she's just sitting there, pretty much human as far as anyone can tell.]

Yes! Oh my gooooosh, flying is probubbley one of the coolest things EVER! AND OH MY GOOOOSH. You look human too! Or are you like me and have crazy powers too?

[Perhaps it was just her assumption that aviatory motion would require some kind of wings. Kanaya takes a moment to arrive at another theory.]

Did you do the windy thing to fly, then...?

[Blink, blink, wince]

Oh. Um.

[Kanaya paused a moment to filter the conversation, and smiled faintly.]

'Crazy powers' is more accurate. Evidently humans have a mythological creature that is somewhat similar to rainbow drinkers, though they're nocturnal instead... I think the term was 'vampire.'

[Filter] It's okay. witch_of_life July 6 2011, 06:38:27 UTC
[A filter? Why's that there now? Oh well, don't care!]

[She grins, standing up as she looks to the communicator.]

Nope! I have wings now! Heeheehee.

Oohhhh, rainbow drinker? Neat! How's it diffcurrent from our rainbow drinkers? Or, UM, how are these VAMPIRES~ different from rainbow drinkers?

[Apparently the thought of vampires frightens some humans. Or maybe it was just because Kanaya was nibbling their necks...? She's not sure. Better to be a little more cautious about revealing the information, now that she's no longer hyper with the excitement that blood finally tastes good.

Oh wow, like the god tier wings or something else?

Heh. They don't glow, for one. They seem to be all affiliated with darkness, and night and shadow. But I guess it makes sense since humans typically sleep then, so it's a little opposite but largely the same. I'm enjoying it so far.

[Filter] Yeah, happens to the best of us. Don't worry about it. witch_of_life July 9 2011, 08:32:46 UTC
Whaaale, not EXACTLY. [Feferi cocks her head to the sides and smiles slowly as her large feathered wings slowly creep out and around her from her back.]

They're a bit different! But I really like them either way. They're like a wingbeast's wings!

Aren't they adorabubble? Ope! Adorable? Heehee.

Oh, that's pretty dumb! But I GUUUEESS it makes sense for them to be more nighty then day...uh, y. Heehee. Since you're right with the whole we sleep during the day and they sleep during the night fishness.

Those are impressive. So they're all... feathered?

Yeah, I thought it was weird but it makes more sense than their blood-drinkers wandering around at the same time they're all awake. But there are a lot more humans who are awake at night than trolls during the day, so wouldn't they have a harder time hiding?

...Are you trying to drop the fish puns for the week, Feferi?

Yep! Lots and looots of feathers!

Oh, hmm, that's a little weird! I guess humans are used to both a sun and moon that aren't painful! So maybe it would make sense that more of them are used to both?

And yeees ma'am! I'm not a fishy empress right now, am I? Maybe I should make wingbeast jokes? Hmm, but I don't know that many of crows...

Heeheeheehee.

How do wings like that work, anyway, when air can pass through each of the feathers...?

Haha, trying to come up with a whole new set just like that would probably a while. There's all the different sorts of them... and references to their anatomy...

[Kanaya pauses and looks away thoughtfully for a moment, mouthing a few things like] Feather doesn't sound enough like 'either' for that... [before she shrugs.]

Yeah, I don't know how you guys keep pun quirks going. That really takes a lot of work to keep up.
