So -- is it like a god of some sort? A disembodied entity?

[She tries to look scared.]

But -- then they're not safe if they don't? Could someone get hurt? Are we okay if we stay inside? Whatever it is can't come in?

You should be safe indoors. I cannot say what will happen if you go out in the dark, however.

How interesting! I love learning about religion. Do you have services? A holy book or scriptures? Any history?

Little that you ought to concern yourself with now, though I would be happy to discuss such things with you another time. Far more important is that you keep yourself safe in this time of darkness.
