Mitsuhide wakes up slowly.

He feels warm and comfortable; something in the back of his head tells him this isn't right. It takes a few minutes for him to realise why it isn't. He'd fallen asleep fully-dressed on the wooden floor of the hut, back in the forest, but right now he is wrapped up in sheets and resting on what is clearly his own mattress. Mitsuhide was back in his room.

Opening his eyes, the young samurai pulls himself into a sitting position; he is wearing only his underkimono. There is only one way that he could have gotten back and that is via Motochika finding him and carrying him home. It's not unexpected, really. His lover could not have missed the fact that Mitsuhide was going there more often alone recently. No doubt he knew why, as well.

Mitsuhide sighs lightly, looking to his side where Motochika is still fast asleep. Today was the anniversary of the day that the Demon King, Oda Nobunaga, had been struck from the pages of history. Mitsuhide's own Lord... or, rather, former Lord. He had been the one to strike him down, in a act of betrayal. For a long time now he had accepted that he could not have done anything else. Had he remained loyal Motochika and his entire clan would have been wiped out and Japan united, but under a tyrannical rule. The people would not have found peace or safety. Those reasons, however, did not absolve him of his sin. Mitsuhide felt the weight of his actions constantly, and with the anniversary of Honnouji, that weight seemed to grow heavier as he dwelt on it more.

Then there was what had happened thirteen days afterwards...

After a moment of consideration Mitsuhide decides to get out of bed, pushing the sheets away from his body and moving round so his feet touch the floor. He does this as quietly as possible, so as to avoid waking Motochika up.
