She sighs a bit, trying her best to smile back at least a little.
I got here not too long ago myself. No one seems to know a whole lot about this place. They tell me it's called Vatheon, though.
She looks at him, a bit hopeful.

Sorry...I haven't heard of it. It's not too unbelievable though. [He thinks of Geass and empires and earth eating bombs. His jaw sets momentarily. Naturally he tries to change the topic to something lighter]

She repeats the words, a little startled. Where is this guy from anyway, that this kind of place was anywhere near normal? His outfit certainly didn't seem familiar, so it must've been pretty far off.
Oh, yeah. I-I've only been here for a couple days. I came from Tatsumi Port Island... not that I remember how.

[His seriousness retracts for a moment and he looks comically embarrassed.] Wait, miss, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. Where I come from...that's what Japan is called - Area 11. It was...how to say....conquered.

She thinks of Apathy Syndrome, although their problems back home have clearly moved beyond that at this point. Sure; that was peaceful in a way, she supposed.
Oh, I see. I've... never heard of Japan referred to like that.

The empire of Britannia. I'm a knight for the royal family, actually. I was still on duty when I found myself here. Hence, my state of dress.
[He digs into his jacket pocket to find his badge, on the back of which is the seal of the nation.] Japan's flag and freedoms are no more. But most people are used to it by now. That was...hm. About 9 years ago.
[There is too much to have to explain. He quiets briefly and puts on a slightly sheepish expression] I don't mean to be babbling so much. How about you? I suppose where you come from, Britannia never quite expanded?

Her eyes widen a bit, and she seems rather impressed. Although she admits, it doesn't sound like it'd be a pleasant world for her to live in. She much preferred the... mostly quiet life at Port Island. But nevertheless it was interesting to learn about, to say the least.
No, I guess they didn't. Although...
She pauses a bit uncomfortably.
Well, our class curriculum never does cover much of whatever Britannia is doing. But they haven't exactly taken us over, no.
She notices he is still wet. It doesn't seem to be bothering him; maybe he was used to that too.
Oh, yeah. It looks like there are some towels over there, if you wanted to dry off a little. New clothes are also available, although I don't think they have anything quite... like that.
She gazes at his uniform again, though more admiringly than anything else.

[He gets the towel and pats himself down as much as possible, removing the cape, his shoulders thanking him. He notices that she is watching him and he glances up at her, meeting her eyes for a brief moment. There is something about her voice -]

She swallows, hesitating a little. She's surprised she actually managed to talk to this guy for this long without either of them asking about a name.
I'm Yukari. Um, Yukari Takeba. I don't think I caught yours, either?
She looks at the cape. It was like he was some superhero or something.

Kururugi Suzaku. [He bows a little. How he's missed the traditional Japanese ways sometimes. For a brief moment, he takes to just looking at her with a smile until finally explaining himself] Sorry it's just....you remind me of someone I used to know.
[He's relaxed considerably since the first few seconds they were talking. His guard is down, clearly]

Okay, it's not exactly any of her business, she realizes...but she's a curious person, and, well... it was too late to take it back anyway. She can only hope that he doesn't mind her prying a little. He seemed to be rather charming and welcoming, at any rate...
Oh yeah, and since you probably don't know yet, apparently the clothes here are totally free. Heh, pretty nice, right?

In a way. It was my duty to protect her. [He sounds just a smidgen saddened here but he recovers quickly] I really admired her.
Oh. Well in that case, I guess I'll help myself. [He takes a simple change of clothing and then stops for a moment. It would be impossibly rude for him just to do it right out in the open. But he also wants to keep her company...]
I really should get cleaned up. How about we...meet up some time later and continue talking? [He puts on his best trusting, charismatic expression. It certainly would be beneficial to make a few new.......friends.]

She picks up on the past-tense immediately and realizes that she shouldn't have pried after all. Figures. Well, that would teach her to open her big mouth at any rate. It wasn't always easy for her to do, so she liked to, whenever she got up the courage. But, situations like this...
Well. She supposed she best not dwell.
Oh, s-sure, of course. I don't think either of us will be going anywhere any time soon, so... She chuckles lightly. I'm sure I'll see you around.
She resolves to give him some privacy. An interesting man, he was -- she hopes they will meet again. Friends would make this place much more... bearable.
