Summary: Xion's determined to start getting stronger, and Axel's begrudgingly accepted the Mentor Hat again.
When the morning had rolled around, Xion hadn't exactly waited for Axel to wake up before she'd headed out. What she had done was leave him a note, telling him where to meet her when he woke up, along with some toaster waffles that were undoubtedly cold by the time he found them -- but hey, it was the thought that counted, right? Xion had been a little too preoccupied to grab anything for herself aside from a couple bottles of water (one for her, one for Axel), which she'd brought along to the field.
She'd spent a good twenty minutes practicing on her own, working on her stance and agility, as well as the way she swung her keyblade. She tended to have a habit of leaving herself too open after a strike or when she was knocked back, and she wanted to rectify that -- which she soon discovered was difficult on her own. After she'd done what she warranted as a decent warm-up, she'd gone and plopped off to the side with her bottle of water, to drink and rest, and wait for Axel to show.
She still couldn't help thinking about what they'd talked about the day before. A part of her continued feeling awful for what she'd said and the way it had made Axel look; she never wanted to see any of her friends like that, and it made her even more unhappy that she'd been the cause of it, just from four words. She couldn't remember if she'd apologized for it or not, but she figured she'd probably ought to at some point, or else this would just continue to gnaw at her.
Xion found herself stretched out on her back as she thought, her eyes fixed on the barrier and the sea outside it. Yesterday had just been...weird, she decided. She didn't necessary feel like she'd resolved much for herself, but Axel had made her feel better about it; he'd given her some much needed perspective. People mattered, memories mattered, and she ought to stop dwelling so much on "unimportant" things.
Unfortunately, despite what Axel had told her, everything that bothered her still felt important and he hadn't fixed any of it; he'd just let her feel a bit better about it.
