The sudden presence of a voice behind him made him start, one hand automatically reaching for the spot on his hip where a gun might have been, had he actually been carrying one. Sadly, Edgeworth was rarely armed unless he was on a particularly dangerous investigation. He might have been taking what precautions he could with a murderer on the loose in Vatheon, but even if he’d managed to procure some form of firearm to carry with him on his search for Wright, his poor reflexes clearly would have left him dead already, considering how quietly the intruder had managed to sneak up on him.

He whirled around, leveling an indignant scowl on the man who had the gall to scare him like that, his look only growing darker as he recognized a face he hadn’t seen in weeks.

“You,” he growled, hands balling into fists at his sides. “What do you want?”

He didn't remember the man's name - if he'd ever gotten the man's name - but he did remember the look the man had given him when they'd briefly spoken over a month proir. It was the same look he'd received from so many pairs of eyes across the courtroom, and, unfortunately, sometimes even from other enforcers of the law; the look of absolute loathing. He remembered the man's taunting words, his barely-veiled challenges and the distinct air of threat that had radiated off the man even through the tiny SFC monitor. His was a face Edgeworth wouldn't forget, and one he'd really rather not have run into in a dark alley.

Naoya watches Edgeworth's reaction with vague amusement, ever the enigmatic sort. He isn't about to say he was doing anything in particular, after all. But Naoya's memory was quite unmatched--after all, he couldn't forget anything. One wouldn't exactly call it the same or similar to an eidetic memory, but it was really quite close. In particular when it came to faces and names... and twice more when the person behind said name and face happened to be related to the one thing he despised the most: law.

Chaotic born and raised, and well-represented by his unsettling red eyes, his gaze falls upon the startled prosecutor's scowling face. His answer isn't slow, but it isn't very quick, either.

"My, you seem to be in quite the hurry. I take it the inordinate amount of trouble around of late has got you all kinds of riled up, Mr. Edgeworth?" He said, quiet amusement as he moved, a clack or two from his geta the only noise otherwise. "If I had to guess, I'd say you seem concerned about something. Our murder, perhaps?" In truth, he was just as interested in it, if not more so, than the man across from him. ... But for different reasons entirely, honestly. If a boy COULD return from the dead without the use of demonic skills such as his ability to revive the recently deceased only, then he felt it important he know how, and even more important he know why.
