[He had skipped out of the whole Easter thing rather early, having only stopped for a bit to talk to Alice about... eating eggs. Which was ironic is an odd sort of way.
Not expecting any visitors, he jumped just a bit when he heard a knock on the door.] H- hold on a moment.
[Marking the page of his book, he set it down on the coffee table and climbed off the couch, heading for the door.] Can I he-
[...oh. Sighing softly, he looked down.] L- look. I'm really sorry for ruining the whole thing earlier for you.
[ N had not been expecting an apology the second Canada opened the door, and as such blinked at him blankly before managing to shake his head. He did not want to tell Canada he was still bit upset about the whole thing, and was tempted to tell him it was fine; was this what Canada meant about lying? ]
It's not your fault. I'd have found out sometime. Zoroark likes eggs; she ate a lot of them.
[ He had to change the subject, quick. He felt guilty that Canada felt guilty. ]
[Clearly, he was going to have to find better places to hide when he didn't want to be found. He would have been occupying America's couch, but he was pretty much avoiding his brother at the moment so the only other place he had- ....DAMMIT. He probably could have went to Iceland's and occupied his couch for a while. Next time.]
...there's not all that bad, really. Lots of recipes use them. [And there he went again, probably making things worse. He'd probably apologise for that, too, later.]
[ N does not want to think about eggs being cooked, but he manages not to flinch. He has slowly been learning to accept that it is okay for people to eat eggs and meat like Pokemon do, but the thought of doing it himself still turns his stomach. Instead he focuses on his gift.
He shoves the basket out in front of him. ]
I- I wanted to. I won this. Or-- Purrloin won it, because she still wanted to find eggs. But she doesn't eat chocolate, so it's mine. And you've been really nice and brought me tissues and took care of me when I got drunk --
[ He is babbling now. He has never really thanked someone like this before. ]
[Thankfully he won't mention it again or mention that he likes to use eggs to cook, either, or anything else. He'll just keep quiet on it all.
Still looking a bit surprised, he at least accepted the basket since it would have been rude to turn an offered gift away, even if he felt like he didn't deserve it or do anything that warranted a gift being given in the first place.]
A- are you sure? I- mean it must have been a lot of work to get it and all and I did that because it's what friends do and all, right?
[He didn't mean to be. He just... should to lying or just keeping his big mouth shut for some things, probably. It might be easier that way.]
Then, thank you. I like you as well. I guess I just need to be more considerate is all. [He nmoved to find a place to set the basket.] Please feel free to come in and sit down, if you'd like.
[It's a nice enough place. He keeps everything neat and tidy and tends to enjoy having bookshelves filled with books. He also has things that remind him of home around such as a hockey stick in a corner and plenty of maple syrup around. It has two levels with the first one having the kitchen and living room as well as a bedroom.]

[ That's an "it's all right," in N's own special way. He does come in, looking around Canada's apartment curiously. ]

Still. I should be more considerate.

You didn't know it would upset me, did you?

Do you have soda?

I do. It's from the regular stores around the city, though, but it tastes the same as it's outside counterparts. At least I think so.

That's fine.
