[Those are Pokemon. Pokemon he had never seen before in Unova aside from, you know, in books and such. Obviously the most logical thing to do was to talk to this girl since, you know, even when trapped in an underwater city, learning about Pokemon is important.]

[Wait. Did someone say pokemon? Nobody had even MENTIONED pokemon as of yet, so it was definitely a relief... but when she looked up the guy didn't look quite like the type to frolic in fields of daisies with his own.]

So what if I am? Are you a trainer?

[No, no. He doesn't frolic in fields of daisies, he grinds in dank mountain caves. Frolicking in fields of daisies is something Bianca would probably do.]

I wouldn't have asked if I weren't. I'm Cheren from Nuvema Town. Who are you?

[But pokemon trainers are supposed to be friends to all life! YOU ARE NOT A TRUE TRAINER.]

H-Hmph. [Lyra hesitates, but decides she might as well.] Name's Lyra, from New Bark Town in Johto. Never heard of Nuvema town, though.. [she was never one to study. :|]

Johto? Well, that explains why I've never seen Pokemon like yours before. Nuvema Town is in the Unova Region.

.... The who region? [like i said... She REALLY hates studying.]

Hey, so if you're a pokemon trainer, you have to have pokemon, right? I want to see!

The Unova Region. It's pretty far from Kanto and Johto, so it's not too surprising that you haven't heard of it.

[Oh Lyra. At least he's used to this from other people. But anyway, out come his Pokemon. Unfezant, Liepard, Serperior, Simipour, Gigalith, and Haxorus.]

Oh. Kay. [yawn you're boring. WAIT IT'S POKEMON TIME? HER EYES IMMEDIATELY SPARKLE.] O-Oh my god! Gahhh! Look at 'em! [she immediately whips out her pokedex and points at every single one of them, still dazzled.] Geez, we don't have any pokemon like these in Johto..

[And don't mind him, he'll take out his Pokedex to get data on Lyra's Pokemon.]

What Pokemon are the most common in Johto? I've read about them, but I've never experienced it for myself.

Um, never really thought about it. But um.. [Lyra puts her fingers to her chin and ponders for a minute.] There's a lot of ratattas and sentrets running around. I think most of my pokemon are pretty rare, and Suicune here-- [DRAMATIC HERO STANCE.] is a legendary. [When Suicune hears it's name, it trots over to Lyra and looks over at Cheren.]

[He is actually impressed. He's seen legendaries before, but foreign legendaries are new! Especially ones that don't really have too much data on them in actual books (story books, however, had a lot about them).]

You've caught a legendary Pokemon? [r-reaching out to pet Suicune just because. Well. It's legendary.]

[Lyra's more than a little happy with his reaction. She smiles triumphantly.]

Well, 's more like it decided to travel with me. It's still pretty awesome though, huh? [Suicune allows this, and eventually nuzzles his hand back.]

[Petting Suicune now, yeahhh. Because omgomgomg legendaries from other lands.]

So you didn't catch it, then? Either way, it is impressive. You must be a skilled Trainer.

Well it's in a pokeball if that's what you mean. But he wanted me to catch him! And duuuuuh, I'm the best in Johto! I'm the champion! [self satisfied smile is self satisfied.]

You're the Champion? I guess it makes sense that you have strong Pokemon like Suicune, then.

I totally am! I've only been the champ for a while now, but I'm definitely the best so far. Heard of Lance, the dragon trainer? Yep! Beat him!
