After going back to the battleground for such a brief period of time the boy had thought this place was nothing but one final wish his heart had come up with; a place where Vanitas hadn't been trying to kill him and that his friends were safe and like all his other hopes and dreams had been shattered upon realizing that he was going back to die.
And yet it was the same streets... The same sights and sounds, too. Even with a few missing faces and a many new ones this place hadn't changed much at all. It made a few tears fall down his cheeks as he sat there at the edge of the fountain for a moment as he collected himself, smiling even though his heart felt so heavy in his chest. Even with what he'd learned from Aqua here about what was going to happen... he couldn't stop it. Ventus felt horrible for not being able to, and even more so that what had happened here...
He shook his head of the thought. No, dwelling on that now wouldn't do him or those he'd hurt any good. He'd have to find them and try to make things right, first. If that failed... Ventus couldn't think of what that would entail. He already lost his best friend to the darkness, if what Aqua said was true... He didn't want to lose yet another with these memories still so fresh in his mind.
Ven ignored that he was still soaked and that locals were trying to get him to see about drying off. Righting the wrongs he'd made when he was here last and his friends came first over his own personal comfort.
