[Kagome was still wandering around when she happened to see Sesshomaru leaning against a rock. She wasn't sure, but she wondered if he was in pain. She wandered close and knelt down close to him. She reached out a hand to him.]

Sesshomaru, are you alright?

[Sesshomaru remains perfectly still, his golden eyes following Kagome's movements. When she gets too close, however, he turns his head haughtily.]

Don't touch me.

[She froze and then let out a sigh as she pulled back her hand and sat it in her lap.]

My touch isn't poisonous, you know.

I have no desire for a human to touch me.

[He closes his eyes, his expression a little pained - if one is looking close enough. Even for a demon of Sesshomaru's caliber, losing an arm has unfortunate side-effects.]

Shouldn't you be with the halfbreed?

[She couldn't tell that he was in pain but him closing his eyes was pelicular enough. She flinched slightly at his next question.]

I can go where I want. Inuyasha isn't my babysitter.

[She leaned slightly closer, trying to get a good look at him.]

[He opens his eyes slowly, his pupils dilated from discomfort. While he can move around and fend for himself, Sesshomaru is still plagued by phantom pain. There is no stopping that, unfortunately.]

Why do you care? [The fact that she can tell that he feels pain bothers him. At the moment, she reminds him strikingly of Rin.]

You're in danger. [He wrinkles his nose in distaste.] I could kill you with a single touch, girl. Are you suicidal?

Oh no don't hide....Come back! I have cookies...

[She watched him but she still couldn't really tell if he was truly in pain. The fact that he kept closing his eyes was her only indication that something was wrong.]

[She blinked at the question. Why did she care? She knew towards the end of their adventures that he wasn't as cold-hearted as he would lead you to believe. As well as his obvious affection towards Rin, showed that he had a heart.] I care because you're a part of my life, good, bad or indifferent and I...want to make sure you're alright.

[In her own very weird way, she did care about him, but she wasn't about to admit it.]

[She blinked.] Danger from what?

[Again, he surprised her. However, she felt no fear by being around him. She knew he was strong and dangerous, but she never believed that he would actually harm her. Besides trying to kill her once, he never tried again.] Of course I know could, but I don't think you will. I'm not afraid of you, Sesshomaru.

[To say Sesshomaru is confused would be a vast understatement. He has never heard such a thing from anyone - aside from that human girl with a flute. But, even then, he knew that she was dying (thus why he allowed it).]

You care about me? [He looks her over.] I have no need for a human's affection. Perhaps that is what Inuyasha desires from you, but we are not the same.

[He flexes his claws.] Are you truly so dim? [And apparently she is.] Be thankful the halfbreed isn't here.

[She flinched at his question. She was hoping that he wouldn't arrive to that conclusion.]

No, well...Uh..well...maybe a little. [She shook her head slightly.] I know you don't need it, but it doesn't change anything! [She shook her head slightly. She was able to heal some of the wounds on Inuyasha's soul and show him how to trust people.] Our relationship is different. I know you aren't the same.

[She moved closer and looked him over, still concerned.] I'm not dim! Why what if he was? What would you do to him?
