[He has been walking, easily enough, bag of supplies in one hand and mp3 player playing, when--

He senses something off. Rather like a shadow, actually, which automatically puts him on edge.

Minato pulls one headphone off, looking around curiously.

When he spies the man, he can tell that...something seems very off, but he isn't sure what. And so, he steps closer.]

...Hello?

[The figure stands still, moving his head in the direction of the boy.

Strange.

If Slenderman ever had the chance to be on edge, it was now. Underwater bubbles weren't really his thing, so whatever bad energy he usually gave off was doubled. He wasn't going to move towards him just yet, though.]

[He tenses further--the negative energy given off by this figure was...extremely unnerving, if he was entirely honest.

The silence certainly isn't helping.

A long pause; silently, Minato brushes a hand by where his Evoker rests, making sure he has it. He always does these days, ever since what happened to Ryoji, but it is comforting to know that it is there.

...And he doesn't entirely know why he is so on edge in the first place, which doesn't help, though he has long since learned to trust his instincts.]

...Can I help you with anything?

[His head tilts, as if he were 'staring' at where the Evoker is hidden. He takes a step forward, his movements slow and stiff, towards the boy, which would reveal his completely blank face, literally.

As long as Minato doesn't blink, he won't be able to get closer very fast.]

[...Okay. That's weird. Very, very odd. He takes a hesitant step back, but unfortunately for Minato, the reflex response to something odd? Well...it's to blink. Which he does.]

[tentaclearms]

[That one second is all that Slenderman needed. In that second, he is uncomfortably close to Minato, head still tilted to the side, 'staring' down at the human before him.

One of his arms, now that he was brought back to the normal time frame, moves slowly up towards his neck.]

[He automatically tries to stagger back a few steps quickly, wide eyes trained on the other.

He reaches for the Evoker, but pauses. He can't just...attack, not in a place like this, when--]

...Are you a shadow?

[The other might not even be a shadow.]

[There is a pause. A long, chilling pause, before a distorted voice makes its way into Minato's mind. The only shadows he knew of were the ones that were made by objects.

'No'.]

[lunateclock]

[...It's an uncomfortable feeling, something like a voice in his mind. It can chill with the Arcana Social Link voices-- But at the very least...it's clear. He can understand it.

...Perhaps he should have been more exact.]

What are you, then?

[He can't help it; the large mass of foreboding is a bit indicator that something is wrong.]

And that's the only reply you'll get when it comes to asking him something like that. The only movements he's making is retracting his arm slowly, waiting for a better time to strike.]

[...It isn't anything he's familiar with, but he makes a mental note to look into it, still watching the other warily.]

I see. Are you new to Vatheon?

['Yes'.

What a curious boy. He could definitely sense his uneasiness, but he wasn't running or cowering from him.]

[He stands his ground now, hands loosely at his side once again, but entirely ready to spring into action at the slightest of provocations.

But. Well. He is part of the welcoming committee.]

...You must have questions. I can try to answer them to the best of my abilities.

Though this may seem odd to someone who was used to giving answers, Slenderman was a strange creature, he didn't want them at the time being. He turned away from the boy, as if dismissing him, and continued to walk away.]
