Everybody scream, everybody scream.

It started with a shudder.

At exactly midnight, five days after the shadow first started to move, Vatheon shuddered.

It lasted barely a moment, but it was a sign of things to come. The shadow had once again started to move. First it simply shifted quicker inside the bubble that contained it, faster and faster until the bubble started to swell. It grew slowly, steadily, the blood red outer layer cracking and peeling.

It wasn't before long before the bubble was nearly touching that of Vatheon itself, hovering near it with a silence that was nothing short of eerie, before it started to connect. A pathway formed, crossing the small distance between the two bubbles, spreading wider along the outer barrier of Vatheon until it was large and high enough to let in several people at a time.

Then came the fog.

It started slow, a few wisps of blood-red fog here and there, but it was soon joined by more and more, until the mist was thick enough that it could be cut with a knife. Still and foreboding it hung at the opening of the new bubble.

Then came the footsteps.

They started soft, as if someone --or something-- was making its way into Vatheon from deep inside the new bubble. And they were soon joined by more and more footsteps, until it became impossible to count the approaching numbers. Slowly they became visible through the thick fog. They were mostly humanoid, certainly, but that was all that could be said of the silhouettes. Because that one there, to the right? That one was simply too tall to be human.

Meanwhile, the bubble had stopped growing completely, coming to a rest with a low groan that seemed to vibrate in your very bones. The gooey black flakes that clung to the expanded bubble slowly began to let loose, dissolving in the water around it and turning it into a deep red colour that slowly dissipated in the cold sea water.

The leader of the shadows moved closer, the fog around him thinning as he neared. A bone white hand raised up from the thinning fog, only a few whips of it clinging to his figure that quickly disappeared in the air, finally baring the strangers that had come to Vatheon.

The clown smiled. "Would you like a balloon animal?"
