Iceland turned around at the shout. A sopping wet, somewhat-sketchy-looking guy was there. The kind of guy that he'd usually stay away from, if they weren't soaked and confused, which wasn't pleasant for anyone.

"You're in Vatheon," he started, as quiet as he could be over the din of the plaza. "We're all stuck here for some reason, 'spell' or not."

Sirius saw the boy turn and was just able to make out what he said.

"Vatheon? I must be dreaming, I've never heard of such a place."

The second part of the guy's reply clicked in his mind and he felt dissapointment as his dream theory slipped away a little.

"'We'? You mean there are others who've 'woken up' soaked in the middle of a city?"

He gave him a sympathetic look.

"I don't know what world you come from, but this is some place beyond everything, so.. yeah."

He nodded to the next statement. "Yeah, everyone who has a mark--" He absent-mindedly touched the black mark on the side of his jaw. "Is someone who woke up soaked in the middle of the city, as you put it."

Oh right, he should probably introduce himself. "I'm Iceland, by the way. Welcome to Vatheon."

Sirius checked himself over, briefly wishing he had a mirrior, but he didn't have to look far, there on his left wrist was a swirly weird looking tattoo that hadn't been there before.

"Damn it..."

There went his dream idea. He briefly wondered if 'Iceland' was joking about his name, but the completely serious look on his face told the teen otherwise.

"Iceland, huh, like the country, nice. I'm Sirius Black, it's nice to meet you, I guess."

Or would be if he hadn't just learned he'd essentially been kidnapped and branded for no obvious reason.

Iceland felt bad; it hadn't been so long ago that he'd been in the same position, and yet in only a couple months, it seemed like his normal life was the dream, and here was the reality. Poor guy was just getting here.

He blinked a bit. This guy was from some version of Earth, then. "...I am the country." He'd given up using his human alias, being under the sea with most people not knowing the name anyway, but it was always an interesting (and pleasant) surprise when someone did.

"It's nice to meet you too, Sirius Black." To be honest, Iceland thought, his name was rather strange too.

Sirius couldn't help it this time, he laughed. Now he was joking...he had to be...

So, if we're all stuck, what exactly do you do around here?

And now Iceland glaaares. "I don't see what is so funny."

"We stay here until we get sent off by the place."

Sirius noticed the glare and realized iceland wasn't joking.

"Right, sorry, I believe you."

Why not? If there was a city underwater, why couldn't there be a country personified?

"Well, I meant more along the lines of entertainment."

Well, that was quick. Iceland was a bit puzzled by how quickly he accepted the fact, but he wasn't complaining. Plus, Sirius sounded kind of British now that he thought about it. He never did understand the Brits.

"Entertainment? There's not much. There are shops galore, and there's a park and library and such. I think there's a casino somewhere too, if that's what you like. It's kind of a boring place, curses aside, but it's safe and all."

Shops were ok for a bit, parks were nice, libraries were not his thing and he never did understand the desire to gamble like that.

Yeah, pretty boring, he'd have to change that if he was going to be stuck here.

"...Wait.....curses, someone curses you? Why don't you curse them back?"

Iceland was rather bemused. Curse it back?

"Yes, curses. The coral curses us all from time to time. They're usually harmless. I wouldn't if I were you, I wouldn't want to anger the thing. I forgot how to curse centuries ago anyway.."

He realized he'd gotten caught up talking to the guy, and forgot he was still sopping wet. Oops. Well, Iceland was never the best with people. "..You should probably find a towel and dry off."

Getting things angry never bothered Sirius, however, if it was a magical object, then he supposed cursing it wouldn't be nearly as much fun.

He hadn't really forgotten that he was cold and wet, but he had also gotten wrapped up in the conversation, and suddenly it felt a lot colder again.

"Yeah, drying off would be nice. You said there were shops, about how much would a new outfit go for in this city?"

Sirius was suddenly very glad he had been running away from home when he had been 'taken', it meant he had some money in his pockets and he knew he had stuck his wand in his soaked jacket's pocket.

"Oh, don't worry about it. Apart from Nostalgia Nook, everything is free, including clothes."

He figured Sirius would figure out about the Nostalgia Nook later, so he didn't bother to explain it. Iceland himself only figured out about it recently, and he hadn't even visited the place, the silly hermit.

"Free?" How strange. "That's helpful."

Sirius decided he'd focus on one thing at a time. Clothes first, exploring later. And maybe some food too, he was starting to feel a little hungy now that his initial confusion had worn off.
