[Riku hadn't really expected anything because to be honest, he didn't really want anything. But when he saw a box with his name on it, he couldn't help but raise an eyebrow before taking it, carefully pulling the wrappings off-]

[...He's just...going to hold onto the picture frame and necklace closely now, with a very faint smile crossing his lips.]

[He looks up at Xion when she speaks, nodding slightly.]

Something... I thought had been lost forever. [He holds up the gold heart locket first. Inside it holds a tiny picture of him when he was much younger, and of his father. Though, the father's face has faded out considerably.]

This place sure knows how to give... Merry Christmas, Xion.

[Yeah, hard to believe that someone so small and innocent could become him, huh. He notes the confusion, but... he's still so happy and appreciative that his patience as quadrupled.]

Because of the memories they hold. [He stands up, slipping the locket around his neck.] Sometimes we tend to forget on our own what it was like in our past, and the pictures serve as reminders of better times and how far we've come in life.

[The rare, honest smile doesn't leave him just yet. You sure that was all you gained, Xion?]

[Sora knows that smile on Riku. Knows it anywhere. It's soft and appreciative and meaningful... but most of all, it's rare. And seeing that after a hard week just makes Sora feel all kinds of happy. He walks over to his friend and sits beside him, leaning back on his arms.]

[It is rare, indeed- especially after what happened. Though with seeing those apparitions all week he wonders... if his real mother would be proud of him for getting this far in life, even after all his mistakes. Riku clutches that necklace even tighter for a moment before slipping it over his head so it can hang close to his heart.]

Yeah. This just made the week that much better.
