After what seemed like forever (and forever was pretty long for a Time Lord), the Doctor finally stumbled into town. He was still dripping wet. He was also really starting to regret the fact that he'd left his shoes and socks in the TARDIS, even if they had been completely soaked.
At least he had finally reached the town.
"Hello! Is anybody there?" shouted the Doctor. Nobody answered.
Since nobody reacted immediately, the Doctor sat down and started to pick the twigs and leaves out from between his toes. It was always better to make a good first impression with one's foot hygiene. In fact, one planet he had visited recently had almost shunned him for having the wrong color shoes during the fourth month of it's solar cycle.
