[Matthew is sitting on the edge of a roof, watching in some amusement. He doesn't know what that weapon of hers is, exactly, but that's some obvious skill right there.]

Not bad.

[And she looks up, more or less a little embarrassed that she didn't catch him. Not that she was worried about hitting him, but if it was anyone else, it could've gotten a little messy.]

Only 'not bad'?

[He laughs, hopping down from the rooftop lightly.]

Fishing for praise now, Saya?

Ah, well...

[She wasn't watching her words on that one and... she kind of stopped watching what she said around Matthew. He taunted her, it was only fair she got to do it back.]

Just where praise is due. Took me years to master that technique, you know.

I'm sure it did. What is that, anyway?

[He trusts her enough to show that he doesn't know what a gun is, and he's pretty curious.]

Oh, right! Different worlds and all that.

[So she's taking her gun back out and, making sure the safety is on, she explains.]

Putting it simply, it's a weapon called gun. It shoots metal bullets at high speeds, making it capable of causing great injury or even a fatality. All you have to do is pull the trigger and... [Now she removes the safety and fires again, hitting the cans that she had set up.] There you go! Though as useful at it is, it only fires in a straight line, which makes it moderately easy to dodge or deflect if it's not being fired point-blank.

Huh. I've never seen one before, but that's pretty interesting. It sounds pretty useful.

[And she tenses up a bit.]

Yeah... Useful. But people use it for the wrong things all the time.

People will use any weapon for the wrong things. It depends on how you define 'wrong', I guess.

[sweeperesque]

Speaking generally... killing people is wrong.

Do you think so? And what about in war?

[sweeperesque]

People are free to do what they want to do but... War is strange in its own right. I stay out of that.

[Hah. War causes some terrible, terrible things. He should know.]

[It's almost like he speaks from experience and while she normally dislikes preaching, she just can't help but be concerned this time.]
