He's such a cute little kid!shard_finderDecember 6 2010, 00:30:26 UTC
She can't help but to stare at the small Inuyasha child. She had seen other people who she knew were older so she figured it was a curse. This now proved that her inkling was true. Staying slightly away from him, she knelt down and smiled at him.
A second later, Inuyasha poked half of his head out, blinking a large, golden eye at her. He watched her carefully, but didn't make a sound, nor did he reveal more of himself to her.
Kagome sees him and she remains where she is. She knows that his childhood wasn't a happy one and she wasn't surprised that the child seemed wary of her. Inuyasha once said that he didn't fit in with humans or demons so he found a place for himself. She looks him over and tries to think of a way to get him to come to her. He had protected her so many times and now she was going to protect him.
For a few moments, Inuyasha thinks about what to do next. Nodding to himself, he steps out from behind the building and folds his arms over his chest. Even though he's still so small, he scowls and tries to look tough. This girl is only a human, so it's not like she'd be able to hurt him physically.
She remains quiet but as he folds his arms over his chest, she can't help but to smile. He looked so much like his older self that it was remarkable. She realized that he probably had started doing that when he was younger, as a way to protect himself.
"Inuyasha. What a pretty name. My name is Kagome." She sat down to become more comfortable. "Are you hungry?"
"My dad gave it to me... At least that's what my mom said."
At her question, he nodded again. He took another hesitant step forward, but stopped there. Maybe she was only pretending to be nice to him. Or perhaps she just hadn't noticed the ears yet...
She had seen his father's bones in a courtyard...twice as they traveled there together. Once to thwart Sesshoumaru's plans and the other to find a Jewel Shard.
She looked him over and she smiled before saying gently. "I won't hurt you. I'm only a human right."
"He's a great demon who rules over the lands." Yeah, that about summed it up. He had never known his father personally, only learning about him through stories that his mother used to tell.
Hesitating once more, Inuyasha finally walked over to her, albeit slowly. His guard remained up, even when he was standing in front of her.
"Oh wow, he sounds really important." She says as she tries to think of some way to get him to trust her. "You must be really strong, if you're his son."
Kagome remained still but she couldn't help but to smile at him as he stood directly in front of her. What a brave little boy, Inuyasha was. He seemed more trusting as a child but yet children usually are more trusting then adults.
Inuyasha couldn't help but smile a bit. "That's right. I'm really, really strong."
He looked away at her second question and shrugged. He didn't live anywhere; he just slept wherever seemed warmest before traveling onward during the day.
Kagome smiles at him. "I'm sure you are. You look really strong."
She watched that and she sighed quietly. She had a feeling, what that small shrug meant but she didn't want to pity him, after all he wouldn't be the man that he is today if it wasn't for the experiences that he had to suffer through as a child. "Wow you must be really brave."
She notices that he flinches and she shakes her head sadly. What kind of people could hurt a child? "I'm not going to hurt you Inuyasha...I'll never hurt you."
She stands slowly and holds out a hand to him. "Lets go see if we can find some food then."
"Hello"

She thinks and after a second. "Do you want to come with me to get something to eat?"

"Sure..."
His stomach rumbled suddenly, causing Inuyasha to start and look away in embarrassment.
