Characters: Peter White and anyone who wants to join in~
Time: Mid-afternoon
Location: The Middle District... in the... well, middle of the markets.
Style: Either.
Status: Open! (Like his mind, now.)
(
Sociable? Peter? It's more likely than you think. He is a Prime Minster, after all... )
White. [He calls out to him, sliding up behind him and tapping his shoulder.] Hey, White, help me with something.

Ah! It's you. What did you need? I'm not busy or anything, I suppose I could help...
[ Though he was planning to try and do something for Alice, so if it's quick he won't mind. Oddly enough, he probably won't mind if it isn't, either... ]

I've lost my badge. It's... how can I put this so you can understand... imagine if you lost your clock, [He gestures to the clock-gun.] You wouldn't feel very good about it, would you?
Now, I have my suspicions about where it could have gone, but the villagers aren't very helpful. I wanted to see if you would ... be of assistance in helping me find it. [Well he didn't seek out Peter especially, just anyone who was pretty threatening and would maybe listen to Phoenix. He might have even asked Shizuo but that is a completely different story.]

[ Peter laughs, shrugging it off. ] But you don't know for sure who took it? I suppose I can help--you're rather strange, you know... you don't carry a gun at all. Ah! Perhaps... is that why you haven't tried to kill who you thought took it?
[ ... Well. Old habits die hard, and regardless, most life was worthless to him. Though today he'd been more aware of how painful death might be, so perhaps he shouldn't try to kill foreigners, if they can't be fixed. ... Right? It's a little confusing, really. ]

Where I come from, killing isn't taken as lightly as in your "Wonderland." Guns aren't a necessity to live, I've never used one in my life. Even if I did know the culprit who took my badge, I would not shoot them. Simple as that. [He shrugs.]

[ Peter smiles, unaware how odd that is. There's a tilt of his head, and he raises a brow. ] Really? How strange. Alice says the same thing... I wonder why that is so common here. Of course being shot hurts, but if you can be fixed, why would life mean anything?
Criminals are still criminals, but killing isn't a crime in my country. Guns are important for self-defense with the Hatter family around... in fact, Blood Dupre himself is here...
[ And it occurs to him about something else. ] Actually, perhaps it would be best if you had someone else with you. I wouldn't trust any enemy to the Queen, especially not him.

Peter, I won't say I understand the world you come from, and I won't try to make you understand mine. You're right in that self-defense is an important thing, guns are primarily used for that reason in my world. Just, we try not to kill other humans if we don't have to. People are punished for it, because lives in my world are an important thing. We each only get one and the people in my world try to cherish it as much as they can.
I'm under the impression most people here share the same views as me, except the people from your world of course, so maybe it would be better of you not to shoot people just because they annoy you or say something rude or what have you. [He gives a shrug and a small smile.] It's just a suggestion really, I'm not sure how life and death works here.
[When Peter suggests that ( ... )

I suppose you have a point. It's simply that... I've never thought about anything else. The people in Wonderland... most of them do not have faces. The 'laws' of our country... all there really is happens to be the game itself.
People like me, who have roles, also have faces. The role is more valued than anything else, aside from the role-holder's clock...
[ He seems to be considering this. ] When people die, all that is left is their clocks. Julius fixes them. When the clock is fixed, then their life is simply reset. There isn't any change occurring... but you and Alice come from similar worlds... I suppose I should try to respect that. If I die, though, it's unimportant. What is taboo for us is breaking a clock beyond repair.
[ Peter pauses once more, it's clear he's never really had this ( ... )

Your hearts are clocks? [This ... interests him greatly actually. He had never heard of something like that and his eyes glance down to Peter's chest, wondering idly if it really did sound like the ticking of a clock.] But, when you say their life is reset, do they come back as... just how they were? With the same memories and feelings? Or are they "born" again? If you were to die, would you come back just how you are? Would you still have memories of your... Alice?
The biggest rule...? Did he break a clock? [Frowning now at the mention of Blood. If that man is how Peter describes him, Phoenix will be sure to watch him. He doesn't understand some of the things Peter refers to but still, he was doing something that Phoenix could respect. Protecting people ( ... )

But... don't mistake me. That... doesn't mean I have to like all of you. [ Peter couldn't be completely changed. Not really. ] ... It's simply that you have faces. So I can respect that... And I guess let them live.
[ As for those other questions, well, he... looks taken aback. ] ... What makes you so curious? But... well, no, I... suppose not. But our roles would be the same... and a different appearance, probably, but if your role is thrust upon you, you have to follow it, so it doesn't matter. Besides, it would be that person's clock, after all... it's not as though they're gone.
I'd probably remember Alice. I could never forget her! [ He looks completely sure about that. ]

Of course! Elliot March--The March Hare. Someone very important died, and instead of letting his clock be fixed... he broke it so that person could never be reborn.
[ He sighs, ears folding down in disdain. ] And Blood Dupre... the Hatter. He's protecting him; he broke him out of the Clock Tower where he was imprisoned. Worse still, he's his right-hand man.
... They're dangerous, especially March.

You can't be sure that you'd remember Alice, and even so -- would she remember you? You'd have the same role, the same clock, but are you sure you'll have the same face? The same personality? Does she love your role and your clock, or does she love you? [A shrug, and his smirk stays put.] Food for thought really, you don't have to answer.
[The smirk finally fades at this, a frown replacing and he pulls his hands out to cross his arms, his foot tapping.] So, they're law breakers? That's disgusting. I'll be sure to keep away from them.

[ Peter looks a little dejected when he considers it, but forces a smile. ] ... O-of course she likes me! She must. She visited me all the time! She's meant to be with me, of course. That's why I brought he back with me. And I put her into our game! She's just stubborn, that's all.
[ One of his ears twitches at Phoenix's mention toward what he said--good. The less people around Blood, the less he could do. ]

[He raises an eyebrow at the stutter and the word 'like' instead of 'love' but does nothing, save for giving a small smirk.] Stubborn, huh? You and Alice must really be in love with each other... right? Since she came with you back to your world and all.

[ ... Gnrk. There's some hint of that usual stubbornness on his part to not accept the truth--that she can't love him, it's forbidden--but... ]
W-well... of course!

[He just smiiiiirrrkkks at you, Peter. Just smirking before giving a small chuckle.] If you say so~♪
