"Um, excuse me." The voice was weak, hesitant, and probably easily ignored if the owner hadn't reached out to grab Peter's sleeve. "I-I'm sorry to bother you... But I wanted to apologize for my behavior yesterday. I was... just awful to you when you were trying to help." Tears appear in Alice's eyes as she peers up at him, almost begging him for forgiveness.

Whoa, what a change. ... He'd feel bad if he said no. So how could he?

"Oh, it's fine. Don't worry about it; you were just abducted, after all. I suppose none of us are too happy in this position."

He pauses. "Just... don't get the wrong impression--you're nice, but I'm already with another Alice, and I don't want her to end up thinking I'm neglecting her or having an affair."

Alice shook her head violently. "O-Oh, no, I understand. I-I have my manservant." Wait, manservant? That wasn't very nice, was it? She made a mental note to do something nice for Oz later. "We can be friends though, right?"

... He tilts his head, as if he doesn't understand what 'friends' really means.

"... Friends?" Wasn't that the same as lovers? He didn't clearly get that, apparently. Having friends was a new thought to Peter. "You mean... acquaintances?"

"Mmmm, acquaintances." She pales, then looks away. "I-If you don't want to... I understand, really. Really I d-do." Tears bubble up again of their own volition.

... Whoa, whoa. Oh man, she needs to stop with those waterworks, he's starting to feel horrible.

"S-stop that, it's fine." He's just... never thought about it before. The idea is completely obscure to him. But... what was the difference? He really needed someone to clarify that for him. Wasn't a lover and a friend the same thing?

This was so strange...

Alice's eyes widened, but she tried her best to stop her tears. "I-I'm sorry! I just thought that I-I made you mad!" She cowered a bit. "Y-You're not, are you?"

You'd know if he was angry. Which pretty much meant he'd normally try to shoot her.

"That's really good. We just became friends, so if I made you mad I don't know what I'd do." Alice looked off to the side and smiled a bit, glad he wasn't upset.
